You should have come over to the Wirral, the roads here are more like an off road course.Just returned from taking the P38 to Anglesey for the week, even tried some green laning.
Cheers mate, you just reminded me to phone my friend who has one. The car is close to the caravan so I'll check tomorrow if the wind out awning will cover it.
Mine wasn't stiff, for a change(wistful thinking) it had been fecked by someone that didn't know their own strength. The belt tensioner can be taken apart and made better by putting lube in, they tend to get stuck by being stiff after a while, I know cuz my mechanic did it on mine
Today I rebuilt my engine well almost. Got as far as the belt tensioner and as I tightened the damper bolt the bracket broke I'm sure I could have been heard within a 50 mile radius. As you can see from the photo's there was a pre-existing problem, it had been weakened at some time in the past. This is the first time its had a spanner on it since I bought it in 2005 and it had been " looked after" by Stealers before that so draw your own conclusions. Where's @stustrong and his friendly breakers or @Grrrrrr 's shed when you need them.
Good luck.I actually got to drive it for once , and no won't be driving it for a while as it was to go and have a cornea transplant in right eye so that's me off work and unable to do anything for a few months, you just know the p38 will throw a wobbler no.
Thanks Dopey. They could at least tell clients that they do that. Between getting the time of collection wrong, thus screwing up my schedule for two days, putting the wheels on wrong axles( and saying they 'wouldn't charge me' to put them back to correct axles!), which screwed up yet another afternoon, and not informing that balance will be off, I am seriously unimpressed by them.Yea they will, your going to have to get it done again
Also if they've done any repairs to the metal ie ground out knocks and chips and the tyres have not been put back in exactly the same spots, then the balance would be out. even if they had left the weights onYea they will, your going to have to get it done again
