If the alternator stops charging whilst you are driving, it doesn't take long for them to grind to a halt. At least check the voltage at the battery with the engine running.
And get the alternator to lug around with you, and a belt ...

Went for a random drive in it for a bit and just enjoyed it just because I could, im just so glad to have it back,
Hopefully give it a decent clean tomorrow its still got paw prints all over the back seats from before mot ran out and its sat with quarry lorrys passing every day for weeks on end its absolutely dusty as anything

Can't tell thru the flux ... what's the other side look like ? any heat will have scorched thru ...

Today im preparing my D3 for a trip to NSW national parks .
There will be mild off road experience but plenty of flora and forna .
I think im luckey where i live ( a small costal village near Bundaberg Qld Austrlia) ther is a surfing beach 100 yds from my front door and veery morning at about sunrise i walk along the sea front and usually see rainbow lorakeets , Ibis , spur wing lapwing .butcher birds , magpie larks , and some times Kookaburras , Sulpher Crested Cockatoos , Black Cokatoos,
