Took the map sensor off today and cleaned it. It didn't look completely clogged up but plenty of crap came out.
Only done one journey so it's not a real comparison but mpg seems to have taken a significant jump upward

I didn't realise you could clean them.

It can get caked up with diesesed crud which will impact how well it works.
You can get map cleaner spray, but I've got electrical contact cleaner so used that.
It's not had any detriment and the crap that came out can't have been helping anything
Don't know about the MAP sensor, but cleaned Otto's MAF sensor by plugging the outlet sides with cotton wool and standing it vertical with the inlet uppermost, then filling it with isopropyl alcohol and letting it drain through slowly.
Then took the cotton wool out and gave it another rinse through with the isopropyl.
Let it dry, reinstall, all much better.

Fluids check, tyres and charging up new battery. Left the old one on whilst diagnosing faults last month. Today was cold and damp and it caught me out.
