I had better not say now many Mamod engines i have the wife would do her nut:rolleyes:
My dad had the Steam Cream Roadster one - I wasn't allowed to play with it as a child. Ever. I wonder where it went?

What did I do with my RR? Well, last week I drove from Maidstone in Kent to Champsac in the Haute Vienne for a few days. I realised on arrival that we only got out of the car once for 20 mins in the whole journey!

Just before leaving it split a boost hose so I collected a new pair of those from LR this morning and also replaced the door actuator on the NSR so that I no longer have 16 stage unlocking on that door! Also put some rear pads in recently as they were advised on the MOT a couple of weeks ago. It's still a joy to own.

Not so far from me

Used it used it used it, towed with it, almost considered getting a van to tow with but nah soon went off that idea, its been loaded with spare wheels and all sorts for the drift car, 7months and heaps of miles and im still happy with my choice to go from a td6 to a superchargedView attachment 289930
How are you finding miles per gallon? I keep looking at a S/C but sometimes rack some miles up, currently get 30 on a run and 18-22 round towns depending on summer or winter.

Refurbished my steering wheel today with kit, sand it back, clean and paint. Transforms the interior.
The before pic is after sanding. Wheel wasn’t that bad!

Looking good! Got a link to the kit? I used one on my D2 with good results 👍🏻
That’s the one, worked out about £30 with delivery, a lot less than having wheel re covered, especially as there wasn’t any damage just general wear/ lack of colour.

Thatll do me, cheers

Getting a heated wheel recovered doesn't sound like it would end well
There is a old upholsterer I know through the farther in law who is quite comfortable doing heated wheels, although not his favourite, but lately his not been well so this is why iv tried this refurb kit. If I had it recovered it would look the part as he is a brilliant upholsterer/ trimmer, formerly worked for rolls Royce back in the day doing there seats and leather work etc. just shame like most he’s getting older, (at least 70)
Looking how this has turned out it’s £30 well spent, just need one to touch up the seats as there perfect with condition of the actual leather just the usual seat base that’s got some colour gone and the odd scratch.

Is premium diesel with it or is it snake oil?
It's currently only 2ppl more than regular and i need half a tank full at the mo

My td6 did 22 to 24 on my normal running and 20 towing,
The s/c does 17-20, and 15-16mpg towing but then it does like 9mpg in the city but it is ulez compliant,
It also does 9mpg if you enjoy putting your foot down,
Even on motorway aberdeen to london it did 500 miles on a tank
Iv done a few miles in it absolutely love how quiet and smooth it is a really enjoyable motor to be honest,
400bhp in somthing that size is a little unnecessary but i wouldn't mind more 😉
I did buy another td6 not long ago with suspension faults just to sort and sell both td6s was on 20s, and one i have to say is the supercharged and my pals supercharged both feel slightly stiffer feel a few more bits on certain roads i didnt with the td6s,
Few repairs 118k to 138k
Front to rear brake pipes (paid garage to do them for mot)
A gearbox cooler pipe (did a service and valvebody at same time)
Front diff was whining after a while
Set of brake pads
2 o rings on coolant hoses,
Couple of services,

2 front park sensors missing
rear washer jet and air conditioning not working,

but it was also just a touch over 3k rear arches was good and where it mattered so took a chance it was a cheeper buy but really really happy and I feel good driving it everyday

That’s not bad at all, not much difference to td6 in the grand scheme especially when petrol is cheaper anyway, repairs don’t sound like anything too exciting just old age, arches are common on any I think even some 09 onwards l322 are needing arches, looked under a 405 last week, and there corroding underneath but harder to fix being Ali.

Yeah that was my first points to check, rear arches and sills, if i found anything wholed or crusty id have no even stayed to hear it running,
Id much rather deal with nuts and bolts or an engine swap and electrics rather then rust,
I do really like some of the l405s but if i look i start thinking if i added a little more budget i could get a lot more car but look a little bit more gets somthing in this age range and before i know it im searching for like 30k+ motors

I was quite confident on this one and it was the first one i wanted, but also had a list of others to go see had 3 other supercharged and 2 aj 4.4 v8s, before id have just had to get on a flight and find one i wanted,

and last on the list was a late 2009 facelift tft dash 3.6 which was the prettiest of them all deep red, 2 tone interior, design pack but the tdv8 turbos and inlets issue worried me a lot,

I did also see that buying mine with 9 days mot if it wasn't for me i wouldn't be out of pocket or stuck with it with a years mot on either
