Just looking at replacement wing mirrors on eBay. I assume the basic mirror is the 10 pin one and the later top of the range models have a different plug of some sort?

The basic mirror is the 6 pin one the 10 ones are for auto dip and the like your on will probably be 6 pin like mine.

10 pin seem quite reasonably priced!

PS. Is the steam rally on this year near Great Missenden?

Fixed my two spare EAS compressors. One needed new piston ring & seals. Someone had sealed the gaskets with what looked like loctite, so cleaned it up & used new seals. 170psi easily direct into a 2ft pipe & gauge. Soldered the thermal switch wire while it was apart.

The other one just had a failed thermal switch. Piston ring was done about 6 months ago and is fine. Could not find my spare thermals, but had a spare motor brush assembly on the bench which works ok. This pump runs ok, but when connecting gauge the pressure starts at 150psi & then the motor slows down & pressure drops to 90psi. Need to investigate why the motor hasn't got enough oomph. I have a spare armature from a pump with a broken magnet (dropped it), so that might work.

Years go, I used to enjoy the Steam rally near Steyning in Sussex. Not seen anything quite the same here.

I have been exhibiting at them for years and it does seem to be a very english thing, the big Great Dorset steam fair is the one to see proper working engines they have a big display ring they muck about in and you see things like one traction engine pulling an artic lorry with a full size steam loco on the back, you can feel the exhaust beat coming out the chimney

We do get an annual farmers fair with some steam traction engines driving threshers etc. Old tractors are more popular here.

Yes there's something amazing about steam coal and hot oil
I need to go to a fair or 2 this year
My family before my Dad, and even his brother were all steam engineers. Mother's dad too. Although his dad was a brickie.
Hence my handle!
Love it.
Was so chuffed when I first met W and discovered she loved steam.
We went on quite a few "Steamy" weekends, Trips in the Waverly, steam railways etc. She is even a shareholder in the Wensleydale Railway.
