So in regards to my problems getting it into park and it being a little more difficult to move the shifter once its warmed up but goes easily again when cold does anyone think that it could be something like the gearbox fluid is a bit low once hot? as when cold in theory there is more fluid sitting around at the bottom end so it might lubricate things a touch better.
 
I doubt it, the xyz switch is on the outside of the box. Unless there is an issue on the valve block in the box?
I'd check there is no debris in the gear selector in side the car.. Maybe a coin or a McDonald's chip?? :p

The valve block is at the bottom, isn't it? If oil was low enough to cause a problem, you'd have other difficulties.
 
Fuse 20 blowing randomly. Took both relays out of passenger seat and it blew when I sat in the seat. Presume it’s the lumbar pump as that the only thing live with relays out.

As above ^^^^^^ or the cable If the lever becomes hard to move. If the lever is free and you get the correct position display on the dash, then it could be internal.
 
Well that's a new one. Reversing up hill, funky turbo type noise when coming off the accelerator. Never heard it in a forward gear!!
 
I’m sure you guys are right, though I suppose it won’t hurt checking the level when I get chance anyway.

It just seems strange that when the gearbox is cold it goes into park and the selector is glides along with ease. Yet once warm it’s like trying to push it through treacle and struggle to get it to read that it’s in park. I think it does register 1st when it’s like that but it’s very difficult to get it to reach it with the resistance when warm but no problem when cold like I say.
 
it does sound like a cable issue to me, but they normally go stiff hot and cold, i wonder if the heat is causing the innards to distort slightly? is it easy to disconnect? if so that would rule out the cable and its linkages, at least

My td6 can sound like that when giving it a boot full up hill, sounds more I think as you only have 1 gear, unlike toward where to keep noise down it will go up gears, Reverse just revs, the whistle on coming off the power iv had on every TD engine, some cars louder than others, can’t here it in my td6 but can when windows open. I wouldn’t worry.

thanks, i'm used to the whine/whistle of the turbo, its the waah waah noise i've not heard before, right at the end.. i think its coming from the turbo pipes, maybe even airbox

Spun the back out of my cheap height sensor that failed. The reason for failure was water ingress. The OEM part has 2 O rings on the shaft. The cheapo has a very nice brass (bronze?) bearing for the shaft but no O rings on the shaft itself, just one rather poor fitting one on a plastic boss at the end of the shaft. I think the second one has failed now so time to buy a proper one.
