was going to use it to take grandkids to see 1 direction at stadium of ****e but used the other car instead cos i didnt want sick in it they were so excited so just ordered a new in tank pump for it instead so it didnt feel left out :D

replaced the accumulator 2 min job then spent the day just driving it in prep for a trip to southampton and back tomorrow 300 mile round trip dropping the mother inlaw off for a cruise

Then get a new rf receiver. My P38 has been abandoned for six weeks - it started on the button first turn today.

Oh really? I stuck a new battery on about 6 weeks ago. I've been giving it a run at least once a week generally to keep it charged but due to having an EAS fault I haven't been keeping it up too well. Left it for 10 days, dead! I'll be looking at the central locking once EAS is sorted so maybe I should do that.

How big was your new battery? I have a 1000CCA 135AH battery and I can certainly leave it for 3 weeks no problem.

I put the type 069 on there as that came up as being correct for the vehicle but I believe that's only 70AH

That's a torch battery:rolleyes: Diesel or petrol? It's on the small side even for a petrol and next to useless for a diesel.

Haha. It's petrol. I probably should have jumped on here and asked opinions before buying but it came up as the correct one using the registration.

Any battery will work to a point for a petrol as Rover V8s are surprisingly easy to turn over - however whether it's man enough to support the electrical demands of a P38 is a different story.

If the battery is going flat then there's a fault or the battery is too small - since I updated my rf receiver my battery voltage has never dropped away from normal.

I put a remote relay on mine wired into the orange wire from receiver to becm stops any interference less than £15 with two remotes off fleebay works on 315mhz, just have to use two remotes to open and lock car doesn't bother my cheep work round, I saw the price of the third gen receivers and nearly had a heart attack.

More info required please. Been without my remote locking for ages because I refuse to pay the over inflated price for the latest receiver. A new post may be the best way to go.:)

re (remote relay) have put more info up on new post, if I got it right new to this forum stuff and enjoying it, been in stitches reading some off the posts, all good fun.
