Changing the idler pulley is a good idea too. Got rid of my chirping noise especially on tick over.

+1
Mine was chirping away for a while before i tracked it down to the idler pulley (this was after having my alternator refurbed as i was certain this was the culprit)

Changed the lower front nearside ball joint. I knew it was going to be a pig, but the MOT required it, as it had a split rubber. Anyway, a 6 hour job, 2 hours of which was spent heating various parts up and whacking them with a lump hammer or trying to stop the threads turning as I tried to undo and then tighten the nuts. Sounds crude I know, but needs must. All sorted now ( including reassembly with LOADS of copper ease - I just hope the other side doesn't need doing sometime soon.

changed the front shockers terrafirmas all round now and an engine flush and oil change today going to try the new shocks out tomorrow and go off piste yeee hawww :D:D:p

Realised I have a nice big wood screw sticking out the front wheel. Car parked up, suspension on its arse and a flat. Looks dumped lol

Bodges my rad with putty (plastic padding leak-fix) was at the top on the plastic bit, big crack, had to fix it some how until I get a new one, Just did the bake pipe today as well and had that fixed... drive away and this happens

Left her 300 miles away. No doubt when I get back to her she'll throw some toys out of the pram. It has already been 3 weeks since she last did anything. Getting her ready for next MoT though. Chances are I have traded her in before hand, but better safe than sorry.

Also ordered a key fob refurb kit.

Went for an MOT - all good, advisory for parking brake ?? Anyway, the ball joints are all good, so I won't be doing that job again in a hurry. Prepping the car today for a 500 mile round trip during half term holiday. Seems everyone is checking stuff at the mo !

Put a second rear caliper on her, refurbed a key fob, double checked the amp I need, prepared her for a trip to France, well almost!

Fitted new tailgate struts. They weren't head banging weak but they did allow the tailgate to slam when you closed it.

Gave it a little birthday, oil and filters ready for my first laning trip tomorrow:banana: I know it wont make the car go off road better but good excuse it wanted doing.

Took it for MOT ,failed on rear drivers side toe arm , got one from dealers and did it tonight aswell as the upper rear hub bush , retest next week , not doing to bad for an 11 year old 140000 mile car.

Disconnected fuses in hopes to find the culprit responsible for complete diagnostics failure!

Well I would have been fitting the new air con condenser this morning but as it's pashing it doon with rain I'll stay in bed :D
