This kind of thing. Fit the battery onto tray while out of the car and then mark and rivet the strap to the tray so when it's placed into the car the strap will always maintain its position.

My new to me l322 doesn't have a lifting strap for the spare wheel :( with my wrist now giving up in protest I'm effectively one handed and don't have the ability to get the wheel out
Any clever ideas?
Long prybar with a padded end through centre hole, lever onto the running surface, turn wheel fore and aft, roll out of the well, fit lifting strap for the future?

-8 here, washers frozen i hope i cant hear the windscreen motor or headlight washer motor

Nothing like as cold here, about -1C. An inch or so of snow which is pretty. Road is clear but I get the feeling the schools might be shut? Bit odd as I can remember walking miles across fields as a kid in shorts and wellies with snow coming over the top. The schools never shut then!

Does the mf31-1000 battery fit in the L322?

I am sure they physically fit but as @Mark Piercy you lose the clamp. L322 is a plate clamping the lip at the bottom.

There was a recent fred when someone's garage said they couldn't fit it as the terminals where in the wrong place, Think it was because of the mega fuse setup in the newer 322 as its a different setup to the early 1s which had the battery disconnet (pyro thingy) which runs across the top of the battery, but the mega fuse slips down the side.

When I fitted a new (biggerer) battery I had to reconfigure the mega fuse so it laid across the top as there was no space to get it down the side, couldn't get the MF31 here at the time so just went "big".

I did that in a down pour on the M6, sun shade was shut. I could hear wind noise so checked all the windows were up on the switch pack and they were but still had the wind noise. Traffic came to a standstill so I visibly checked all windows were up and all doors were shut and they were. That's when I opened the sun shade and the roof was open in the tilt position. Surprisingly very little water got in.
I leave the shade open now.
