I'm thinking of buying something without a green oval as a commuter (I love Red Rover but 1988 is a bit old for a daily). I won't buy anything post 2010 because of DPFs - we get so many blocked DPFs that won't regen it's ridiculous!
You'll have to go older than that I think, my Vectra is a 54 plate and has a dpf

My laptop battery needed replacing earlier this year, I opened the old one and found 5 x 18650 cells, only one wouldn't hold a charge for
long, the others were fine, I use them for my electronic projects, if the EV battery packs are constructed the same, (1000s of 18650 cells)
it wouldn't take many bad cells to make a battery pack pretty much useless.
Replacing 18650 cells in power tools has become a regular thing for me, some do not last long.

Not been around much these passed 10 days as my dear old mum decided to collapse in Sheffield for us and been in hospital ever since. Now on the mend but will need carers in to help her once she is home, got to sort that this week.
God bless my P38 she has faithfully got us here and there without missing a beat. As a treat I'm going to by her some new oil and filters this week and give her a loving service, the car I mean not me mother she's not keen on engine oil:D:D

Glad to hear she's on the mend

Went out to see the snow, was lovely to see actual real snow, it's been too long!! Fair play to the driver of the Mercedes SL? Up the Cat n Fiddle!! The usual share of numpties stuck.
Friend i had with me was genuinely shocked when we reversed up a fairly steep untreated road 'like driving on tarmac'.. wasn't planned, but needs must when the road is blocked

Sadly I had disposed of 2 duff ones before, I knew that could be done, I bought an AEG drill complete with charger and 2 batteries
with my staff discount a few years ago for £90, genuine replacements are circa £70 each, I still have the drill and charger, might get
just one equivalent non-genuine one to see if they're any good if, they are available and cheap enough.

My wife bought me a Ryobi drill with 2 battery packs, the Li ion batteries just managed out last the warranty. I took the battery packs apart and fitted new 18650 cells. You have to be careful to get the high current versions but they are working fine. I get mine from AliExpress for about £3.50 per cell.

My new to me l322 doesn't have a lifting strap for the spare wheel :( with my wrist now giving up in protest I'm effectively one handed and don't have the ability to get the wheel out
Any clever ideas?

A can of tyre repair stuff? AA membership??
I've got both, just trying to figure out how to get the tyre out.. I'd like to get a strap off ebay, but not until i know there's provision to attach one
Think i need to remove the parcel shelf, floorlid then put the seats forward and try lifting from inside o_O :D

Not sure there is room for a strap as the EAS compressor lives under the spare wheel I think.

Yes.
We have a strap system with a plastic bit the hooks in the lower tailgate, when you pull the tailgate down it lifts the wheel so you then just slide it out.
