Yes this is a P38 and RAVE has been my bible through all of this. Re the test lamp, I forgot to say I did that as well. There are likely other steps I took that I have forgotten now. I've only been working to fix this problem for the last 6 months on & off ..
I'll have a look later today and see if I can see anything worth looking at.
Is the dash illumination a fail? In a well lit garage how many testers would notice? Usually they're looking for warning lights.

I'd invest in a tailored cover for it, tie it down well. It's not a substitute for proper indoor storage but it'll keep the worst of the weather away.my landy is going to be outside rusting away for a while

You are saying the warning lights do not work? Does the clock light come on and the back light for the main light switch?
