Looked at her. Trying to work out why she threw the hard EAS fault.
Sooooo here it comes, the 6th million time it has been asked: which diagnostics for her?
@gstuart and I have trawled the pages and the sites and have ended up chasing our own tails . So I give up, please help.
Golden Girl is an electrickery laden, diesel, 2002, L322, but, despite having an OBD2 port, every system we have looked at says 'no'.
The diesel seems to be the issue.
I don't want a system that means carting a laptop everywhere. I have an android tablet , which would be gadget of choice , if I must link to something.
Can someone give the definitive answer to which diagnostics will be the all singing , all dancing, read, and reset , one for my beautiful, tempermental, beastie )

@stustrong Goldrover needs help on the diag front will Bmw Inpa run on a tablet and do what she needs.

I think Storey Wilson's stuff is good value for you if you have a laptop.
This is part of the issue. I have loked at RSW a thousand times but would love to not be stuck using a laptop. I'd prefer something that can play with a tablet or stand alone. Especially as the EAS can be an issue when it drops in the middle of nowhere, with no recovery with correct diagnostics within several hours. Two guesses who lives middle of nowhere, with no recovery with correct diagnostics nearby, and relies on a friendly, truck, mechanic, to help when he's got the time. This strop happened on Tuesday friendly mechanic, can't tell me until Monday when he might be able to help me. So could be another week.
Whereas a unit in the car, that doesn't need a laptop, could have helped me , whilst sat at side of great big hill, rather than drivin:eek::Dg home with interesting suspension

Just looked at the hawkeye , bloody hell , how much

https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-DA3600

did have one with my freelander and did work fine with no problems , just expensive now

doesn’t seem there’s many that will do the EAS, apart from hawkeye and RSW, see that has a usb so assume if an a micro to full usb adaptor is used it would work , but of course the downside is having to use a tablet with the RSW

wouldn’t it be nice as I know some double din radios it has the facility to read the codes so can just read them off the screen, but as far as I’m aware that for OBD2 only

Thank Brian. I had a look at it but again ended up image.jpeg

Wow. Effectively £105 per year ongoing if you want to keep using it. With 3 years upfront and a free unit. Have they worked in mobile phone sales perchance?
Is it worth looking to see if RSW or similar will work on a tablet via WINE or similar emulation software ( I know WINE is for Linux, but Android is Linux based IIRC). Then you have full spectrum software running on a tablet, even if possibly slower due to running through emulation layers.

Well you lost me at wine when my interest failed due to it not being the liquid variety.;):D

indeed and know when I had my hawkeye it was half that plus no subscription

that’s what I’m thinking if the rsw will be the answer

also there the lynx, but not familiar with that, if it includes the eas or that’s on top of the main unit , however see that again £100 per year after 36 x months

thought my gap iid was expensive at just over £300, but no subscription, know it will only work with obd2, now gone up to around £420, but does include a very clever suspension calibration software and will virtually do everything that’s needed

Tried and failed to take my lpg reducer/vapouriser to bits. It's leaking gas into the coolant, or at least it would if it was plumbed in!
Undone the bolts but it won't split :(

Started the scrapper and the 4.6. 4.6 was struggling to idle so gunned it and it suddenly settled down. Stepped out and noticed catalyst matrix on the grass behind it! Looks like the cats rusted out and dropped the matrix.

What bits you got and you better get used to it mate

I’ve got that impression.

New headlight as the glass was cracked. Replacement rear light clusters. Fog lights and bezels. Sun roof motor and numerous other bits and pieces.

Having to recondition myself to dealing with this stuff again. The daily is hassle free.

Would that be the cause of his engine troubles

Pads front and rear ended in disaster.
Fronts and rear right led fluid past the pistons while going back in the way. (Remanufactured units before my ownership)
Rear left sticking once it had gone in....
Bleed up get a pedal for like 3 presses then just full of air again.
Another bloody call to landrover Monday morning. see how much 4 callipers is going to sting me
