Continuing the saga of naughty knocks, found this video. It's not a rover V8 but it is a pushrod engine. I may be wrong but it sounds exactly like the noise I'm getting and this guy also only heard it when hot too.. wotcha reckon!?

I reckon that engine will let go in spectacular fashion soon

Yep they do look quite good, and from other reports it does improve the braking performace..

The old Disc was from further inspection is scoured quite deeply and it is dished quite badly.

To be fair they look quite good behind the wheel ;)

You where jacking off underneath?:p

Scrap that, of course I'm talking ballcocks!! Not sure what i was thinking :(
You had me double guessing myself with this. I was sat in the garden with a nice bowl of pasta (beautifully prepared by the wife) and a frosty one thinking "am I on crack?" Good news is it isn't the bearings, they are play free and turn freely. Bad news is there is so much corrosion on the caliper and carrier I can only assume they've rusted in place. I'll tear them down this afternoon and inspect further. Heres to hoping it isn't a new caliper job.
Got new discs and pads anyway, because the discs are visually ****ed, and it isn't worth the time or money to send them to be refaced.

Out with the old..

One of the carrier bolts was being stubborn, nowt a clout with a heavy hammer couldn't fix ;)

dViU6Csl.jpg

Whilst the carrier was off I noticed one of the sliders wasn't quite as loose as the others..

A nice coat of grease and it slid right back in ;)

New disc and pads all done!! ;)

Not too much mess made. ;) :)

I immediately took her for a good drive and the brake pulsation and steering judder has completely gone, i'm well chuffed money well spent in this case! ;)
She's transformed! ;)

The old disc was also warped and in a right state.
