Yes, doesn't the pickup run along the baffle though? Then drop into the sump at one end?
A lot of culprits

Today i removed drivers rear trailing arm and replaced the bush cleaned up, painted and back on
its great working on a car on extended height not a lot of room to swing a beaker bar but i does mean that you dont have to support the axle and it stays where it is:D

Been thinking..... And...

It's good, but it's not right!

If it was the crank hitting something, then I'd best it every revolution. Same goes with a slipped liner o_O

I had a TVR V8 that had lost a liner under high RPM and it dropped down in to the crank, split the block almost in 2 ;)

your issue sounds valvetrain related, the best way to tell is to tear it down ;)

Yep i think that's all it can be, not much else left!
Got a deadline now too, need to tow at the end of April, think i can see some days off work to be booked in...

If you get it torn down no better time to throw a new cam and a set of followers in to it.
timing chain too.

I put a Torquemax cam and had mine tornado mapped might of even had a bit of head work ;), it goes like stink speaking to Mark adams it should be around 260hp and a rather substantial amount of torque, she needs to go on the dyno eventually ;)

The flat spot past 3000rpm disappeared which is common even on a healthy Thor and it produces enough instant torque to spin 4 wheels if i'm not careful.. ;)

Not expecting my old gearbox too put up with it for too long however it still works well even when towing and hooning ;)

While i have the radiator off, reckon i need to check it's not got any blockages, seemed to be getting hotter than it should be (96c) going up a very minor rise last time out!!

A good flush wouldn't go a miss.

Mine sits at 97c which is about right for the Thor, i'd prefer it at around 87c to 89c though to be fair.

Really? I thought it would be closer to 93/94c max on a normal drive on a cool day
The Thor runs hotter for emissions reasons hotter engine = more efficient.

To be fair i've replaced every thing to do with the cooling system, a healthy VC is a must over 100c the air-con fans will engage to assist cooling, mine has had both the VC locked and AC fans running when pulling a load, it sounds like nowt else ;)

I'm not confident my ac fans work. No condenser, so no ac, but the fans are in place and plugged in.
When i tell nanocom to turn them on, i just get an error, unable to communicate :(

The motors can seize or burn out, i'd give 'em a spin the next time the grill is off to see if they're free

They work fine, connected to a battery before attaching and they spin up fine
hmm.

could be the three way switch in the aircon piping to the condenser located at the bottom left side of the radiator.

however they're switched on automatically by a pressure switch in the A/C system so that might also be why they no worky ;)

I bought mine from RPi however I've bought standard cams from Rimmers for around £75 when I needed their next day delivery ;)
Convince me to buy an upgraded cam? Why did you go for torquemax? Is the gearbox good for the extra power or at it's limit?
Also, will lpg be ok or need adjustment? If so i don't have the tools to touch it
