Nah itl polish out.

Bonnet latch snapping is normal. Grab the wire attached to it with a pliers and give it a gentle pull (pretty much standard on a fender). Fancy new plastic handle if your feeling generous.

Fuse 1 - instrument pack, clock, radio, centre console,
So bit of a hunt there....you been wading again?? o_O

How do I get to the bonnet latch wire? in a P38? I've looked form underneath and can't see how to reach it.

Maybe check connectors and wires coming out of BECM that are associated with F01. Might have chafed under the seat and be shorting out.
That sounds likely - the fuse started blowing after it had been self-isolating from corona virus and before she came out to play again - so I don't think the wading is the cause - I'll look under the seat.
Ive bought 30 fuses - figure I might get through a few trying to find out where the fault is. ;)

Didn’t @Shippers have a similar problem turned out to be a chaffed wire if I remeber.

I realise now you may mean you snapped the metal one on bonnet
It’s like a hook, if you get a wire around it through the middle of the grille at the top you can pull it towards you 90E1829F-D29A-4789-A5FB-B5B626F5AB90.jpeg

If you mean the interior handle you can pull the wires on it

Last few days it's taking me two or three heat/ crank attempts to start in the morning. Afternoons, it fires up first time. I'm thinking glow plugs.

GlowPlugs usually. check each one is getting voltage first I would.
You only need 3 good ones in effect so something there.
If you’ve not had them out before be gentle, whomever put mine in hadnt coppaslipped them and I snapped one.

Check em first, I find they are either totally fine or next minute one or two are totally cracked
If they are long you can usually just chop the ends off, decent spill is hard to come by new crap won’t last any longer than chopped ones

Thanks, that is really helpful. I think is is the drivers side latch that is sticking - when pulling the cable from inside using the bonnet release the cable has some tension, enough to release the passenger side latch and the centre latch - but I think the cable connection to the drives side latch is loose, (This has happened before) - maybe if I can get more pull on the cable between the release lever in the car and the latch I might be able to release it - but when you say 'do that with a grabby thing underneath' - whereabouts underneath have you got in mind? is it removing the trim inside the car - or getting under the car and finding the release cable somewhere between the bulk head and the bonnet latch?

Sorry for being thick, but I'm struggling to find a way to release the cable - maybe remove the release handle and locate the cable at the back of that?

Cheers,

Nick

Sorry I meant - [underneath ] sarcastically

There’s two cables attached to the interior handle. If one is too slack unclip it from the pull-handle (last photo above) grab it with a pliers and tension it gently. Should pop it open.
Did have similar issue few years ago, can’t for life of me remember how I got latch open from outside? Think @Dopey may have told me how

It may help having someone to press down on the side of the bonnet that is not releasing to take the pin spring pressure off the release mechanism.
