Personally, I think a good coating of mud and road dirt helps to preserve the paint

No corrosion on that one, maybe he looked after it. A wash and polish never did any harm in my book. Then maybe thats why ive never scraped a car in 23 years of driving. Look after it and it will look after you. I like this Rangie, they are after all a luxury car and this looks great for its age. If you want to plough fields with yours go ahead, but dont knock people for doing something different. I bet this one will be on the road for years, will yours????

what right has any of you to slag off someone cos they park outside/live in council housing?,nevermind slaging off the car...
so what if it aint to your tastes..it ain't yours...owner might have worked all hours to afford the "upgrades"..i tend to find the thieving ****ers live in posh areas,defrauding the tax man etc..

And most of our car thieves, vandals, muggers, dole scroungers, (brother in law falls into this catagory!!
), shoplifters, etc etc etc ...... and get some less rose tinted specs if you really believe otherwise.Personally I dont mind the car though! Bit ott perhaps but hey made you look at it and if thats what he wanted to do....job done!

I bought my MR2 new in 1986 and it's still going strong, as for the Rangie, I have the spares in stock in the form of a non runner purchased cheap to keep it going for another 10 years if political intervention doesn't put it off the road, or until I'm too old to drive. I have never scrapped a car or seriously damaged one in 50 years of high mileage driving. I keep my cars in good mechanical order, I not too interested in the image they project. Image being a peculiarily British obsession. I haven't knocked the car or what has been done to it although to me it's a waste of time and effort.
If someone is going to do that to the car then expect some ripping, I just put coils on mine and got taken apart. What I cannot understand is why people put big wheels and low profile tyres on what is meant to be a 4 x 4. Great on a sports car or performance car but on a 4 x 4 it just looks daft to me.
