ITS BECAUSE the population has a higher content of villians! Next time you car is vandalised bare that in mind!!!:)

Not sure where you are going to find evidence to support that claim ;)

Better to argue that such an area contains a higher density of people more easily caught to be honest.

As for the next time my car is vandalised I'll just call the insurance company and have them take it away, fix it and bring it back.

Any local nick in an inner city area would be a good starting point!

A lot of my family come from a council estate in Yorkshire, they were all workers in the mills or the mines. When I was a youngster almost every house on the estate was immaculate, most had a veggie plot in the back garden, nobody locked their doors. Go to the same estate today and it looks like a junk yard, gardens full of rubbish and overgrown, smashed windows, graphiti and don't get out of your car or stop if you value life and limb. Nothing wrong with the estate, it's the system that puts a certain type of person into one estate that causes the problem. If you are without work as a life style choice, you may well end up in a council house. That's not what they were meant for, they were originally low cost housing for workers, regretably, now in some cases they are reserved for immigrants, the workshy and single mothers.
J no offence, there are still some good council estates and many good people living on them. I have been on both sides of the housing fence.

people rant about dole scroungers and benefit cheats. But don't have a problem with tax avoidance. their are 2 ways to look at this.

First if everyone paid the proper amount of tax Vat would be lower we'd pay less fuel duty and less taxes all round. We would therefore have more money to spend on the local economy thus generating more revenue for the Government,

The other is a that tax evasion costs the country a **** of a lot more in lost revenue than benefit fraud does. and yet the government spends 10 times more on preventing benefit fraud and prosecuting fraudsters. Than it does on catching and prosecuting tax cheats.

Jesus "H" Christ. If you read one of my earlier post you would see that I lived on one til recently and its only luck (meeting wife with house!) that im dont now...so I have no probs with est or the people that live on them. The fact is that there was more crime and dodgy charactors on the est (the biggest council est in Europe I believe) per capitor than were i live now. My car was keyed & broken into ten times while i lived there and (fingers crossed ) not touched so far here.

Now dont be so sensitive & get that ****ing great chip of your shoulder and move on.

And as for some of the other posts......." keep the red flag flying!!! comrads!!!

All this "political comment" cus someone pointed out an RR that wasnt to their tastes. You gotta laugh!:D

I blame the rich people..if they didn't have nice things then poor people wouldn't need to steal them.

Oh, and immigrants.

Don't forget that tax avoidance and tax evasion are two wholly different things.

Tax avoidance is putting your money in an ISA, tax evasion is not declaring income where tax is due.

Tax avoidance is a Govt tool to try and control and steer social aspects, the same as tax itself.

Tax evasion is illegal and the most common case is workers taking cash in hand, by far.

Following that, the next most common type of evasion is deliberate fraud such as carrousel VAT fraud etc.

Tax avoidance is your right and common sense, only an absolute idiot pays more tax than they are asked for, tax evasion is wrong.

One sensible thing Labour did was to close the myriad loop holes that ethically made evasion be classed as avoidance. There are actually very very few loop holes in modern Britain, as such evasion has skewed much more towards the working classes due to the cash in hand nature of many basic businesses.

Only a fool would faff about with offshore accounts etc, and basically, it was only ever fools who did and normally under the guidance of pub accountants.

I'm actually a great believer in everyone paying a flat rate of tax as it makes for a much healthier economy and reduces fraud substantially. Sadly, it's not seen as a vote winner so common sense won't prevail.

Absolutely spot on. Sadly, the "working class" of old has been replace by two classes - the working class of new, which is a good thing, mixed in with the job shy, the single mum's with multiple kids from multiple dad's who have more kids to get an extra bedroom, and all the various non-working immigrants that our state continues to support. It's all gone horribly wrong from 40/50 years ago.
