home made stainless..one center box, small and straight though, splitting into twin outlets exiting either side of car by chassis rails

first....gems autoboxs..if they av a fault and it goes into fecked mode, ie 3rd gear only..DOES it need test book or similar to remove fault and make operate ok, or will just sorting the fault out do?
its running megasquirt due to gems modded ecu blowing up 2 times..the gizmo he fitted expired, he admitted it does not use any voltage regulation..this he is changing..
ecu modding man is modifing and sending back for me to try..apparently i am the first to try without becm...however he did refund me cash.
going to get megashift i decided to control zf box...compushift farrrrrrrrr to expensive and besides DOES NOT request engine torque reduction on shifts!!£1000 and harsh gear changes!!so megashift it is!!and at almost 1/5th price!!
now i needs to sort out the paint...again!!cos i dont like it..
but first..i need to RE sort out the bonnet, cos i dont like the scoop/bulge..
thing is its awee bit of a git to change due to previous engine..etc..see below.
as you can see, there is alot under the scoop..the best i can come up with is remove scoop..cut out centre of bonnet..weld/pop (welding surly will distort!!)
in plate..then slice oringinal scoop to make thinner and refix to plate..thus making it much narrower...issue is with plate popped to bonnet...will it look pooh??
would love just to stick s/c outa bonnet with bug catcher on top..but thats just too bait!!
