Fair point. I did not explain all the ins and outs properly. You don't have to enable either "bid" or "For sale £..." It's optional. You get the admin page and you can do what you like with the two functions. Leave them disabled or enable them. (They can't both be enabled by the way, it's one or the other). The idea of the "bid" option is that you don't really want to sell it but if someone offers you a ridiculous price for it, say 5 grand more than you thought you would ever get for it you might tear their arm off. You don't have to reply to bids. You can ignore them. But it lets you know what your vehicle is worth and if you do ever want to sell, you have a list of potential buyers that you can contact.Why would I want you to advertise my car, when I do not want to sell it??..................That tbh would put me off coming to you in the first place.

Damn! I'm sussed.Call me cynical but this just seems a great way to get free advertising on landyzone. Create a fictitious complainant then repeatedly harp on about your great service is and a ten year guarantee.

Basically the rusty vehicle he refers too is a 2010 Toyota hilux , now I've been driving landrovers and daihatsu fourtraks since 1994 so I know what a rusty vehicle is, my Toyota has rust on but is 20 years away from a scrapyard! I paid £800 for what I believe would be the best job possible, I was wrong , it is a disgrace. I then contact Chris to ask for a partial refund to correct what should have been done, rear valance has nothing on, box sections have no treatment internally , behind wheel arch splash guards no treatment, front cross member nothing, underside very patchy and the diff already has orange stains coming through, etc etc, the job was carried out on 17/11/2017 . It is a 400 mile round trip , I shouldn't have to go back down after five days at my own expense for what should have been done. He hasn't just missed coin size pieces , they are blatantly just not done. I don't know how to post the photos, however they are unbelievable ! I am not a fan off bad mouthing anyone, However he refuses to admit it's appalling & secondly thinks it's my fault ! Another unusual thing on arrival he told me he couldn't find the cheque so I had to go to the bank and withdraw more cash, afterwards he found the cheque conveniently once I had handed over £800.

The guarantee sounds great but peace of mind 10 years down the line is a very different thing to having to return within days to have the job done properly in the first place.
An unnecessary repeated round trip is a big deal to me both in fuel cost and time and I'd not be happy.

Same thought had crossed my mind. But then, as you know, I am an old cynic too!
And completely disinterested, I don't use, or supply, such services myself.
My guess would be that OP is a genuine complainer, and was probably unrealistic about the impact the service would have on a rusty old tanker. And should have kept his mouth shut, or pursued the complaint through the proper channels, without recourse to handbags on the inane-net.
And that Chris, who does provide a genuine service, which, like any other business, has some satisfied, and some dis-satisfied customers, has seen an opportunity to defend his reputation, and take advantage of some free advertising space at the same time.
They are both lucky that the LZ admin are such a liberal crew. If LZ was my business, I would simply delete the thread on sight. I don't feel it is a credit to the forum.
