Thanks for the input guys. Actually, I wonder if the Cooper STT looks like a better bet than the STT pro...it's just a little less aggressive and dare I say it slightly more in keeping looks wise with an old 110!

I fitted a set of stt pro to my 90 6 months ago, very good road manners and very quiet for an aggressive(ish) tyre on the road, certainly quieter than bfg at's in my opinion, very good on the slippery stuff, BUT tend to be a bit vague if over-inflated at speed on the road. Just trying to see what pressures the truck is happiest with !.
Something to consider, with the extra sidewall lugs they actually look quite a wide tyre, mine are 235/85 and they really do look bigger than the footprint would suggest. I like the extra sidewall protection as well as I often do quite a bit of work off piste in forestry.

Thanks Frog hopper. Various tests seem to back up what you say about good road manners/noise so I will go for the stt pros. I would hope that the additional wheelbase of my 110 means it might be a bit less vague anyway.

One questions. As mentioned before I run 30mm hubcentric spacers...for no other reason than as my 110 is old, it's the only way I can run Boost alloys. As you reckon they come up wide, do you think the 265s will still fit under the arches on full articulation/lock? I have no issue with my current 265 traction tracks but I'd value your input...

...which I liked the look of but are now discontinued. Apparently the pro is a much better tyre but it does look wider for any given size. Thanks anyway!

I found that, effectively been replaced by the Pros, which is what I will buy next. Slightly more aggressive (according to Cooper) than the STTs, with a further reinforced sidewall and a few other things.

Interesting. I have high hopes...various reports saying you'd never know it was a full-on mud tyre in terms of road manners and noise which is perfect. If it really is nice and quiet and steers and stops on tarmac but really works in the gloop, and looks like it means business too, it might just be my perfect tyre...

Will report back!

Thats how I found my STTs anyway. Great on the road, do skid a little when braking from high speed but hey, good off road (except for clay), not loud at all really.

I've got a set of STT Pros on the way here. I shall hopefully fit them by mid August. I hope they're as good as their predecessors.
