Have a look at detailing world if you need info on wax etc. I did and took their advice. I got some collinite 476s wax. Also got the clay, tardis cleaner stuff and autoglym super resin polish.

I have a jet washer but don’t use it often due to the amount of water it uses. I did use watering cans before but I’ve bought a 12L hand pump washer which is good enough to rinse, instead. I only use the jet washer now if I’ve been off road. I plan to set up grey water from a water butt one day.

Oh, and we need pic's.

"I have a jet washer but don’t use it often due to the amount of water it uses." Do you have a water meter then ?

I'm on fixed rate so it doesn't matter for me.

Not on a water meter. Fixed bill like yourself. I’m conscious of the amount of water I use, and limit use to what I need. My new jet washer uses 20% of the water a hose pipe would use. I still think that’s a waste to wash a car on a regular basis. I will do it if I’ve been off road as I need to clean underneath. But I won’t do it for the usual monthly wash. Cow next door and the berk over the road are both happy to rinse their cars and leave the pipe running on the floor (she pokes it down the drain as it annoys her) whilst washing/soaping the car, then rinse it again.

Waters precious. In the UK we’re supplied water of a quality for drinking. We also wash ourselves in it, wash our clothes, wash our cars, clean slabs etc. When many around the world don’t have the standard of water we get, I feel I would prefer not to waste it. The recent dry spell for a few years has tested our protection against running low. I live in an area which isn’t under drought orders, but would still prefer to limit use to what’s needed. Personal choice, but one I would like many more to join in with.

I admire your concern for the UK's water, but can't say I've ever really done anything to conserve water.

I obviously turn the tap off when I'm not needing the water, but I do take my time when washing the car, patio etc...
