Hey all, just went to load the boot with supply's for the weekend trip and to my shock found a nice collection of water on the boot cover (lucky it was drawn out)

On inspection noticed passenger side is the culprit. Water on the storage box and then running to the cover. But from above there's nothing to show physical run off.

Checked both sunroofs, dry as anything. Alpine window seems to had been re sealed, but frozen ice had form on the seal bead. Maybe it's broken the seal up?

I know with my disco 1 it became a mobile shower, had water running from rear front along the head liner.

But within the cabin headliner it's all dry no signs of water damage.

Any ideas guys?? Guessing re seal the alpine windows. Just found it odd no water run off from there.

I have had this on my Disco 1. Posted up on a discovery fb page and the general feeling was the boot door seal. I would imagine it could be the same for you.

I haven't sorted it out yet but apparently you can just adjust the door upwards by getting someone to hold it up whilst you do the adjusting. It drops with the weight of the wheel over time.

Mine also had no sign of water inside - head liner etc was fine. Just some drops on the load cover.

Back door seal on mine. I put a length of 3-core flex behind the seal to push it out a bit and that's helped but not cured completely.

Thanks Sierra, good post and very useful link. Had this problem off and on for a while. Adjusted the door and that resolved it a bit but not completely.
Another job on the list !!

My D2 was leaking onto the boot load cover like yours.

Sealed the alpine window, no change

Sealed the foam bases around the roof bar bases, no change.

Sealed up both sunroofs on the outside with Thompson Emergency Roof Seal (can be applied underwater, seals immediately, has fibres in it to make it stronger). Leak sorted.

My car is Oslo Blue and the sealant is black so it doesn't really notice.

Hope this helps.

I have had this problem on my Disco2, the water was coming in the boot door seal and running out of the extra seat headrests that drop down. I haven't cured the problem yet but will look at adjusted the door when I get it back.
