This is the reply from BBS this morning
Good afternoon Vincenzo

Apologies for the delay in responding but as you can imagine we are now
receiving a lot of requests for information on both our own existing
products and of course now the Nanocom so it is taking me time to get
through these plus the support side I also cover.

I do appreciate your situation where you have helped Mattia in the past
but unfortunately I am not in a position to be able to offer any discount
on what is already a cheaper diagnostic tool than a lot on the market but
with better capability. We also understand that the fact it is not locked
to the VIN gives it an advantage over even our existing systems which are
mostly Single Vehicle licence systems that do lock to the VIN.

With regards software bugs, we do have a development team here that work
on our own software and will be looking after the Nanocom side also.

Should you decide to purchase a system for your Discovery 2 you can be
guaranteed to receive support not only from the Blackbox Solutions staff
but also other Nanocom Evolutions users when they purchase and register
the unit on our support forum.

Kind Regards

Ron Blakey

I think the existing user's do not get any support anymore, reading the above post. We are f.cked!

If it does turn out that they ignore existing Evolution users i'd be tempted to dump the code from the unit and see what could be done as an open source effort.

Well, he has not been on to answer any Q's..........Looks like Nanocoms will be a little more "desirable" to keep hold off, seems Im not the only one who feels this is a bad thing......

I think this will be a Bonus for Bearmach and the Hawkeye tbh, as long as they add some more features to it.

VIN locked systems just shout "greed" to me.........

I Agree Nick
you never know Nanocom may become very expensive in future
or may gain value like an old vintage car.
i hope that the support team improves quickly to fix some open issues.

Looking at this with a commercial eye, BS have no motivation to give support to existing users as they never had any of the initial profit to fund support services.

Also this looks to me like quite a crafty way of eliminating one of BBS's major competitors.

TBH there is so much uneducated guess work and wild supposition being touted around on this forum about this, even as to if i post or not, and then criticism of any time that i do post up, i really do not feel inclined or motivated to comment further on this board about this.

That's as maybe - but you are in a position to clarify completely what is the situation for current Nano owners - if you choose to do so?

Hi BBS

I think that many people like myself who already own a Nanocom would just like to know wether you will now provide support for us.
Just a yes or no answer is enough.

Cheers
Graeme

I have the strong urge to drive to Rotterdam, get a night boat to England and put my Nanocom and Discovery in someone's ass.:mil88:

No Regards anymore!

Sure, in one last attempt, i will clarify the situation for existing owners of Nanocom evolutions for what it is worth in the face of such outright and devout skepticism.

Existing owners bought a system with capabilities at a price which has proved unsustainable.
Your support capabilities originally consisted of an un-guaranteed possibility to send an E-mail to support@nanocom.it and hope for a response that due to overwhelming day to day responsibilities, Mattia, the guy behind Nanocom rarely got to do.

Our reaching out to save this product and taking on so many aspects of the manufacture and supply of the Nanocom evolution has relieved the situation and now anyone emailing support@nanocom.it can expect a reply from either a member of BBS staff or Mattia as applicable, which is certainly an improvement for existing owners. They can also expect much more in the way of releases of bug fixed / updated software now too.

In addition to doing this we have also set up an additional technical support forum on our BBS owners only forum, which, granted, is made accessible only to buyers of nanocoms from BBS, but this really is an above and beyond additional support capability that was never available or offered to existing nanocom buyers at all when they purchased their systems.

No matter which way you slice it, i firmly believe that existing or future owners on the NANOCOM EVOLUTION have good reason to be very happy with this most recent news. but then it seems everyone is entitled to their opinion on this board and what do i know !!!

I really do intend this to be the very last comment i will make on this board on this subject.

Warmest regards to all

Colin

I firmly believe that your only on here to sell your gear, I think that not allowing for legacy support in the form of access to your support forum stinks>

Personally I hope you get booted from this forum asap for self serving spam

How the hell can an existing owner be pleased when your shafting them of any support possibility and poor attitude to anyone who raises issues with a product your selling?

BBS Guy will spam your forum and Troll behaviour when someone raises an issue, post and run away again

So for original Nanocom owners thats the long way of saying NO!

It actually says for original Nanocom owners nothing has changed from when you purchased your tool !!

You have and still have www.nanocom.it web site and your reserved area for software support and support@nanocom.it for email support just as you did have when you paid for your tool from nanocom. I cant see why anyone should get upset, they have what they paid for which is web support from nanocom.it.

Why would anyone expect more than they originally paid for ?
