You might be in luck...:D

I had just converted my 300tdi auto with EDC to mechanical injection pump and injectors....so, am having a set of them injectors for the EDC 300tdi...1 x ERR3337 & 3 x ERR3348.

Came off a Jap-import with 124k miles on it. Was running perfectly up until a week back when the throttle position sensor starts playing up, hence switching to the mechanical setup. So anything involved with the EDC system is going. Make me an offer!!

This is what I found on ebay:

Daft question but, do all Jap import EDC auto's have the sensor injector ?

Mine doesn't have one, does this mean that someone has swapped it for an ordinarry injector in the past ?

Where does the thing plug into, and what effect does it have on running ?

All Jap import should have the sensor injector. In fact the injectors are slightly different:

standard : primary pressure 200 atmosphere, secondary 280 atmosphere
edc : primary pressure 200 atmosphere, secondary 300 atmosphere

So, I would think the higher secondary pressure led to the EDC engine having higher horsepower.

Not 100% sure how the EDC system works, but am thinking the sensor helps the ECU to achieve the best economy/power.

What abot all the electrics?Just blank off and ignore?

The engine only needs 2 wires to work normally, one to switch the starter and one to the injection pump fuel shutoff.

Very easy connections to find and make, and thats it, ignore the rest.

You can of course take the longer route and tidy it all up and remove it.

How was your performance after the conversion? Did you tweaked the pump for better performance?

Dump, question, so I have EDC, can I remove the wires from #4 injector and somehow make connections for the engine to run normally?

have you still got injector 3337 with wire

I think I have still got one that I bought a couple of years back as a spare and never used, I'll have to have a look for it, if I do still have it then I don't really need it as I also have the full set that I took out and replaced with a very low mileage set I managed to find and purchase, the original set that I took out are now my spares and the one that I had previously bought as a spare is just sitting around somewhere in my shed, does any of that makes sense?
