You're fine thanks lol. I'll take it to my tyre place tommorow and ask the guy to have a look at them for me. They're very good so if there's anything wrong with them he'll spot it

In fact no, it can't be the tyres. This would have started as soon as I fitted them and it didn't. It started at the same time which I put down to coincidence and even then it was only very very slight. It's much worse now and the fact that it comes and goes every few seconds doesn't point at tyres at all

Swivel preload on drivers side was fine. Bout 7kg but not bad. The passengers side is fecked, took about 14kg on that bugger so a swivel rebuild it looks like.

Didn't solve the problem though so back to it I guess. My mate who has worked with land rovers for nigh on 20 years said it definitely sounds like the tyres to him

how old is landy ?

are swivels still like that ,4-5 kg with seal off would correct, they need to be right before you do much else ,then ensure steering box is central when wheels are

I read that those are the figures with seal off then with gubbins fitted and to account for wear they should be between 6 and 7kg. Drivers side seems fine but passengers side definitely needs a rebuild. Would an overly tight preload cause the vibration and shuddering I'm experiencing though?

they need to be correct and equal, then check steerings central,

i thought you said 14lbs before not 14kg. i guess that was with the brake lines on as well?

if it really is that tight, then you may have a knackered bearing.. i'll let more experienced members answer ;)

Yeah but they won't affect pull, got problems there if they do lol. Ill do a rebuild but if this can solve the problem then even better.
Looks like I might need to put that transfer box on hold :( sorry dude
