i wasn't selling bio just making it for myself and the police was investigating me for months after my little mishap !i suspect thats a rumor put about by peeps who make money out of selling "bio diesel"

have you physically seen any of the issues you mention, that are proven to have occurred as a result of using filtered WVO or SVO ?
Personally no-but I talk with guys who deal with ring gumming regularly (compression loss) they get round it ,injecting water as a mist into the inlet while thrashing down the motorway-50 mile run seems to be pretty standard-some use a converted house hold spray bottle with water in it-have a read:www.vegetableoildiesel.co.uk
But as I said earlier, land rovers do seem particularly tolerant of wvo/svo compared to other vehicles
You must have had a source of ignition-possibly static-it is very important to make sure all equipment is grounded-you must have also have had enough vapour to support combustion-I run a fan continuously with shed door open during processing-I can never smell methanol vapour during my process-nor do I handle the methanol directly-my methoxide is sucked in,so no pouring etc.I am very mindful of the risks, and this is why the brewing shed is 80ft from the house-my main problem is rats chewing holes in oil and fuel containers-but they did eat some byproduct one day and got a result 3 dead rats.it was a full propper rig out, sealed motor the real deal. i had just switched everything off to settle and went for a cuppa. dont no what caused the spark but it could only be the fumes of the costic soda and methanol mix that made the big bang. i was only making 100ltr mix and had been doing it for nearly 2 years, after seing the damage it does when it goes wrong i would say keep away, its not worth your life or some one elses ! but saying that my disco used to go like **** off a stick.

i was not a reg customer but was not making enough to be regd, 2500 ltrs a year, one mistake or fault boom !are you a registered producer ?
ive had a few too whiskeys 2night to talk propper, if u want to talk more al b back 2morro.No just a home brewer, but I take it seriously and try to make the best fuel I can,to try and avoid some of the issues others suffer from-I also try to do things as safely as I can-if I felt what I was doing was too risky I would stop

One other point of interest, with my byproduct which is waste-I mix it with chainsaw dust and run it thru my woodburner burns very hot, this can obviously be done with waste veg oil dregs as well-great free fuel
burns clean with no issue as long as air vents are full open and fire is good and hot to start with
