a cheap alternative to a tracker. wot about an old mobile phone hidden behind the dash and wired to battery? police could easily trace it
there is obvious down sides to it, but cheap or free to do. worth a go?

Actually a bloody good idea there! not sure police would be bothered trying to trace it though...

Having said that; Mobile phone tracking, give it a try it's free and works **** hot... although it thought i was in next doors back garden!

Hi
Didto!
Located in sheffield, and also had attempted thieft this week!!
The bastards chewed up all three locks on each of the door dismantalled the krook lock/unscrewed gear stick knob, smashed the ignition switch, broke the switch bank with hazard lights ???
Tried to hotwire realised that i had put in a battery isolating switch!!! then dismanted the battery compartment and part removed the passenger seat must have tried to jump it but no luck (As i had broken down the day before!!!) ramage through the vehicle (nothing worth nicking in it but missed the sound system amp!!) then resembled the seat replaced seat base screw back on the gear stick nob closed the doors, but why i ask?
Also quite a busy road bloody nerve!
the independant garage i used in sheffield has gone out of business any suggestions would help thanks Andy

Are you saying they were nicking landys for parts?

Or are you asking for help finding parts?

i got impression, they tried to steal landy, and tock things aprt to try and do so, then couldnt get it to work so put it back together for him?

Hi
It looked to me that they wanted to steal the LR as there were items 'nickable' in it and had gone to some length to try and start it without to much damage. I'm looking for a local garage that can do the repairs as I suspect the wirings been f*cked. (it will also need towing).
Cheers

Sounds to me like they may have decided to put it back together again in the off chance you didn't notice you'd had an attempt on it!They maybe intend to come back for it later - perhaps when you've had it back to the garage after your break down!! The police reckon mine, which was stolen 3 weeks ago, had been staked out for a few weeks.

Thanks,
Think your right, decided to park it somewhere else for a while once fixed.
Looking at different security devices but by the looks of the experience others have had dont now much will stop them, prefer a landmine tucked under it at least i'd take them out as well!!!
Cheers

And he was only prosecuted because, they were fleeing the scene when he blew holes in their backs.

Unfortunately as stated the law allows the use reasonable force to defend yourself. Once the criminal is fleeing the scene any use of force is going to be deemed as unreasonable.

farmer concerned lived 8 miles from me

he had also stated in the local pub that the next thieving pikey ( no offence pikey )
that he caught on his land, he was going to shoot

which unfortunatly made it pre mediatated

Mate is a copper the police said what he did wrong was not shoot all 3 of them

hope that helps, i live on a farm and we get them up looking for scrap daily, not had any issues with the discos or the P38 yet

maybe best not to buy a defender

I live in a cul de sac if thats how you spell it. It's meant to be a really safe post code. But you cant be too safe I have said time and time again to get some security in his landy ie shotgun in the drivers footwell. I read these landy stolen threads and think I really dont want to live there and hope these people get their maotors back. I have read 2 in the last 2 weeks where a man who has saved alot of cash to buy a car and have it half inched days later 1 man just got the skeleton of his motor back. I know this post dont mean much but I honestly think landys are the best motors out there and those ****s that nick em should be made bitches in Her Majesties Prison system.

Hi

Had my 90 stolen on the 1st of December last year! The scum dragged it of the drive! However today my father was driving down near the twin oaks hotel junction 29 m1 and he spotted my old reg plate thrown in the headge bottom!! The little gigs had taken the time to unbolt my personal plate so they did not bend the mounting plate that was made to go on to the winch bumper!

I just hope that something really nasty happens to these people!

Now it's back to square one and start adding to the 110 after all of the alarm and tracking systems have gone on it!!!

Cheers

Trackers and alarms won't help as much as a disclock steering wheel lock will.;)
