We found a bare wire on the sensor under the bonnett.

BUT THEN CAR WOULDNT START!

my mechanic checked fuel pump, and it wasnt picking up on the ignition, so he hit it with a hammer!

Car started straight away.

LOL

That could only be a temporary fix until the pump gives up all together

Yes, while mechanic had wheel off, and wheel arch out, we replaced the fuel pump, and the filter under there too.
Car started first time, and is running well.

The symptons of not starting to good, and " No Go " in 2nd gear yesterday, were all symtons of the pump failing by the looks of it.
