hi guys and girls my first propper post and sadly its for help so heres the problem i bought a 1.8 2003 freelander on saturday it was 2hrs 40mins away about 150mile drove it home no problems at all drove it all saturday no problem came home from work tonight jumped in it to go pick up my daughter and about 5 miles down the road i see steam coming from the drivers side of the bonnet so i pull over and the coolant tank has ejected all the wat over the engine bay and down the drivers wing cap still on so i turned round drove it home it hasnt overheated and still drives lovly i am handy with a spanner so can anyone who is good with these engines point me in the right direction many thanks for any help given cheers john
 
Do nothing for a repair call them and tell them to pick it up and you want your money back. Tis the law ask @HMH he is a pro on this subject
 
And @Thor1950 try and get the hang of this @ business :)

Don't put a space after the @ and type the member name. Wait for a pop up box to appear with name choices and click the one you want.

Looks like that needs to go on the to do list then........ How are they doing on the fix list buy the way?
 
hi thank you for all the reply's im not to interested in going through the trying to get my money back saga would rather just repair the problem like i say im handy with a spanner just used to working on older engines. anyway refilled the tank with antifreeze and let the car run and iv noticed that the fans don't come on and then it boiled over again i was going to replace the cam-belt and water pump at the weekend any away im not convinced its the head gasket oils good waters clean anyone got any ideas
