This 110 has a '96 replacement chassis and is to become a camper, using 200Tdi Disco & transmission for more relaxed cruising. Transfer presents few headaches (yet) tho advice/experience on the issues below will be greatly valued. According to DVLA the project will be classed as a "rebuild" attracting SVA and "Q" reg. Q is fine, but SVA.....?????
1. assuming I rebuild to approx 90s 110 spec, are SVA guys likely to demand other unexpected upgrades?
2. will normal insurance LR specialists load the Q reg LR unduly because of its rebuilt status?
3. will the Q reg affect its value favourably compared to the old A reg? ( I realise main factor is condition)
4. as the main passenger is disabled and vibration-sensitive, apart from the softest polybushes, new engine mounts, seats and sound-deadening, what are the best choices for e.g. shockers/tyre size and style?

If it's a runner at the moment can't you do all the replacements seperately (at least as far as the paperwork is concerned) to avoid the Q plate and SVA?

try everything to avoid the Q plate if you can. insurances cos dont like em (some wont even quote you) and the resale value will take a fair knock.
if u can sell it that is!

the sva test is a nightmare. much worse than any MOT.

if the landy is registered already and all you want to do is change the engine and gearbox then all you need do is send the log book away with a change of engine number, as for if your converting to a caravan, isn't that just a modification ?
