Check your whole car whoever owned it before or whoever fitted that diff is a numpty and ill check the whole car over
 
I have developed a vibration, I thought it was my front prop as it had play in it, I've just changed them for wide angle ones and its still the same, but at te same time I took my 2" lift and decarbon dampers off and for a gwyn Lewis challenge set up. I've measeured the ride hight and its about 10mm higher now o. The back but it's the same on the front, I have a feeling itigjt be a wheel bearing as my break pedal has developed a bit of travel, I haven't got the cranked rear arm as the have gone missing in the post, I also don't have the front arms as I'm skint. I had a vibration before it developed one day so what's te chance of me having fixed one but cause another?

I've just done both the fronts, then a week later did this to my cv so had to redo the ns one again, cracked the cv hosing and blee the inners to bits

Suspect the os front might be to blame, might have come loose, I did get new nuts and washers and lock tab washers tho.
 
Quick update with my problem. The diff change that fixed it, well, it didnt! A few miles down the road it returned the same as before.
Had a word with devon 4x4 about a double cardan prop and he told me i should not waste my money. Instead remove the paddock spares radius arms as they are crap and replace with a set of original ones. I dont know how but it got rid of 90% of the vibration. I then had a play with the prop phasing and im left with only a tiny rumble, shouldnt be there but its now driveable!

Buuut i want my camber correction arms fitted as it made my steering so much more responsive with no wandering. Do I need to get a decent set or modify something else to make them work?

camber correction moves diff flange down making prop angles worse a double cardon would be better,might be worth looking at replacing front t/box bearing too (stc1130)
 
That is something that im going to need to do as there is a tiny bit of play. Can this be done with the box in place?

there will allways be some play as its a ball bearing and shaft is supported by diff gear the other end,just remove flange ,sea, circlip ,replace nut finger tight lever shaft out with bearing ,put grease or vaseline inside seal when refittingf seal it holds garter spring in place ,they pop off easily
 
Your running castor correction arms but only a 2 inch lift you
Need to lift another 2 Inches to get the arms correct the castor you have over compensated for something which you don't need
 
The more I get to know this 90 the more I think the previous owner is an idiot! My only real solution to all my suspension problems is start again I think.
Has any body got any good links to decent set up options? I want to keep a 2inch lift as I've just brought a set of 33" coopers and needs to be capable off road. Only time it will really used on the road is for laneing trips and getting to and from pay and plays.

depending where you are i may be able to help I have a set of front arms with new bushes I do them alot. Could have a deal with your arms depending what you want and if they accept Std bushes and not just polys as many an aftermarket arms the buyshes are a loose fit and no good to man nor beast.
 
2 inch lift I run around that on the front and i find no need for castor correction however some others have found different
 
I already have original arms but thanks for the offer. The idea was to start again and get it vibration free then add 1 thing at a time to see what works and what don't.
Although it seems to me the 3 degree arms I have are wrong.
With the original landrover arms fitted the whole axel is sitting around 15mm further forward! Asif the paddock spares ones are that much too short. Surely that can't be right?!
 
My springs are also way to heavy for off road use so looking for a softer set up if any one has any recommendations.
 
do a search online you will find a spring chart with colours and spring weights

We have and will use red whites they are 175Lbs/inch plus2.5/3 inch over stock like andrex longer and softer
 
Do alot of trialling or shall i say I used to do alot I go a few times a year in my 90 but its too heavy and not setup anymore for it (getting back into it with a leaf spring 80 inch)

red whites are a good starting point or failing that Greay x springs at whatever weight you want but £££ compared to LR springs
