Many times stronger than original!! though I have designed it to give at the ends
in a hard smack before the chassis rails fail, mickeyt has some pics of when a car wrote its self off on the back of his:D

Yup they look nice but wasn't sure if they were box or not.

My entire chassis will crumple way before my 8mm rear x member even gets dented.

Will see how we get on with snatch recovering the hell out of it over the next few years tho.

Today is a sad day :(

Oh the poor clutch pedal :(

HOWEVER :D

I am assured by everyone I speak to, including those running challenge trucks in top level comp, that auto is by far and away the best option.

I prefer driving autos too!

That's why I have a manual

I guess it's mainly to maintain my performance  and my "economy"

I guess if it was EASY to change yes I would love to give auto a go, but for now I'm holding out for my Quaife :)

I'd love a qualife :D but yeah funds don't allow

I also read that the auto is better for challenge, ide change if I had the cash for the controll unit to make it like a sequential!

Back to the age old question of could you run an auto with a manual clutch or very very early lockup torque converter?

Just read through the whole thread there after only looking at bits before.

Really turning out to be a great build. lots of nice little ideas too
Many of which, I'm afraid I might have to rob :p

Haha cheers man just wish it was finished

I've got lots of ideas that haven't been created yet due to lack of time/skill/money but I'm already designing the next one to use a few of my ideas on :p but ill keep them to myself ;)

I've driven a few cars with an electronically controlled manual gearbox and it just isn't as smooth as an auto

SMG basically?

They have pneumatic clutch with electronic manual shift, I was meaning auto box with manual clutch instead of torque converter.

You could have an auto with manual clutch, that would be nice, kinda like a cheap mans racing sequential box, clutch for stop/start, no clutch for regular shifts.

Would take some fairly involved messing about that I don't have the resources for! :p
