Well anyway that's what you need to do if you're having a fiddle about!

So are you limited to just stock mounts etc or does suspension have to be fully standard in your class?

From the technical regs
a) Class 1 vehicles must be fitted with sprung suspension between the wheels and the chassis unless originally manufactured otherwise.
(b) Suspension and steering movement must be controlled to avoid fouling of wheels and tyres on chassis or bodywork
(c) In Class 1 the choice of spring and damper length is free. Provided the vehicle is not lifted more than 5cm. Springs and dampers must use their original mounting points. Dampers must not bottom out before the limit of upward suspension travel is reached
(d) In Class 1, remote reservoir & coil over dampers are prohibited.
(e) In Class 1, suspension arms and members must be as originally fitted by the manufacture. Dislocation cones are allowed.
(f) In Class 1, vehicles originally fitted with leaf springs may be fitted with parabolic springs, provided that suitably up rated dampers are also fitted. (Parabolic springs do not have the same degree of natural damping as provided by leaf springs. hence the need for up rated dampers.)
(g) In Class 2 and 2S where the top mounting of the shock absorber is mounted directly to a main member of the roll-cage a brace must be fitted
 
it states that "Springs and dampers must use their original mounting points"
but don't state in the same position?!

New side panels from YRM a they were corroding away at the bottoms an looked tatty :)

Repair to the rear of the battery tray

And shot blasted and repainted the sill rails

Get it sprayed this weekend and the rebuild begins !

More paint later and get on sanding the rest if the body

Just contemplating getting the body panels shot blasted to save hours and hours of sanding :rolleyes:

Gun finish is gonna be just fine, it's gonna spend its life getting ####ed up, enjoy it for what it is and relish in the "I don't really care about my bodywork" attitude!

The bodywork is already dented I'm not worried about that but I like a nice paint finish. I hate being a perfectionist, I've never liked the look of rough paintwork it just brings the whole vehicle down haha
 
hmmm, i dunno, i just think its a shame to get too carried away with getting it right when soon you'll be crying over how battered it is already.

Im not trying to be a nay-sayer, just to consider saving yourself a load of work.

after a few years of use mine has achieved a unique patina of tree scuffs and hedge scratches and various marks and dents etc from various different occasions, you can read the bodywork like a storybook.

Im glad i just slapped the green paint on with a brush, 3hrs start to finish and it looks awesome, brush strokes anorl.

No point polishing a turd mate, life's too short for extreme polishing in my book anyway, why polish it when you could be driving it.
