Well I pulled out of a junction on very snowy and icey road and something very strange was going on on the back end.
It felt like the wheels had locked up and was dragging the back of the car over to one side of the road, as if you were in some sort of slow motion slide if you get what I mean??
Also all the clicking and clonking gets right on my tits
I don't mean to insult you here but you don't really seem to understand just what TC on a P38 is or does. The TC on a P38 is not like that on other cars, it doesn't cut power to the wheels, it applies a brake to the wheel it has detected spinning so it can't actually 'intefere' with your driving in the way most cars fitted with ETC/ESP are reported to do. And you seem so oblivious to road conditions that you should consider whether you really should be out in them at all let alone with TC off:doh::doh:
The very fact that the TC is clicking and banging means that your tires have exceeded the traction available. In a permanent 4 wheel drive vehicle this is normally down to one of 2 things:
1 The numpty behind the wheel is stomping on the loud pedal too hard
2 Its flippin slippery

The good part is, you've recognised that it was
very snowy and icey
The bad part is that you didn't expect
something very strange was going on on the back end
If you had been driving anything less capable you'da been spinning like a top into the ditch on the other side of the road
It felt like the wheels had locked up and was dragging the back of the car over to one side of the road
That is exactly what the TC was trying to control despite the oblivion of the driver

I know what you mean, and that was exactly what was happening

A simple solution would be for you to
not drive anywhere else until the cold spell is over so the rest of us can be a little less concerned about being written off by 2 and half ton's of barely/mis guided metal coming out of the next icey junction
