Taken pipe off this morning that comes from rocker cover, and there is oil in pipe that comes from turbo is this normal?

You have had this problem since July 7th.

Have you in that time stuck it on diagnostics and got a live running data set to see if anything jumps out?

Cheers

Cooking stuff, furniture, all the crap students buy

I have fond memories, several years ago, of driving up that hill in an L reg Volvo 850 loaded with passengers, a boot full of luggage, and a trailer full of camping equipment, and suffering a somewhat terminal head gasket failure

I just pulled my van up that hill at rhallt on a55 . Took it in 4th and we slowed to about 45 mph 2200 rpm all the way. 300 TDI I was very pleased with that pulling 1200 kg.

Just an update on this, had my motor on a nanocom yesterday again and was told the maf was reading 53 and was told it should at least 60? is this per sec or per min?

A td5 should have more than enough towing power!

My old vm pulled 3t regularly powering up hills in 3rd gear at 4k :D

By far the best tow car is my p38 4.6, buckets of torque from low down 1500-3000 is her sweet spot.
what holds back these engines are the 4spd boxes too "old fashioned" for my tastes!

If you want slow progress buy a 1980s 3.5 rangine with the 3spd chrysler box!! damn towing anything over 1.5t was almost impossible unless your trip was entirely downhill lol

Towed all over Scotland with my disco1 auto. Excellent tow car. Kept getting told off by SWMBO for going too fast.
Good tip on long drags is to keep the auto in 3rd which will lock up and stop hunting.
My works Td5 manual in 1998 was also a great tow car.
Can,t say much more but that is my experience
+1, plus the transmission will last longer

So you are complaining about the engine having no go when towing and you did not drive ir at load when connected to diagnostics?

Cheers

Its not aa easy as just hitching my caravan up and towing it! as its in storage half hour away! plus the fact i dont have a nanocom so have to beg steal borrow one, and its not just when its towing its normal driving, it couldnt pull the skin off a rice pudding, doing injector seals this weekend and will see where i am then, if not al buy some swanvesta

had my motor on a nanocom yesterday again

plus the fact i dont have a nanocom so have to beg steal borrow one,

But you had it on a nanocom, so it seems strange not to run it in anger ( even without your caravan) and see if anything strange can be seen ......Makes no sense to me to sit stationary and run the engine..

Cheers
