Once that was done I took off the tail gate and rear bumper

Think the bushes need replacing as well

Stripped all the panels off to find what the rot worms have eaten. After a lot of bolts snapping off and screws not co-operating I found 2 moor mice nests :censored:, loads of dirt and rust, now in piles on the floor :) and holes where there shouldn't be holes.

So after that the shopping list consists of..

2 front arch kits,
2 rear arch kits,
2 front wings,
2 front foot wells,
1 sill body mount,
2 rear body mounts,
full set of body bushes,
1 boot side panel
and a few tins of paint.

Thinking of where to mount some driving lights, weather to put on top of the bumper or cut holes and mount them inside.

Advice welcome.

Should have taken the photo before stripping the front

Also while I was waiting for the kettle to boil :tea: I drained the oil out of the replacement gear box and the sump plug resembles Dennis the Menace

Hopefully this is all of it and I won't have to re-build the box

Took a rear body mount apart to find out what size drill bit I needed

Not much left of that!! Think its a 32mm (1 1/4 inch)

Got some better pics of the front.

The front looks in good nick but the wings need replacing. If I can make it through the snow I will do more at the weekend.

Snow is fairly bad down hear, got to go in on Sunday to clear the snow from the industrial units so will spend a few hours on the old girl. gona wire brush all of the metal to weld to with a 4 1/2" grinder brush, as long as it doesn't try and kill me :boxing:

Focus is good in the snow, not been stopped yet, and got a set of snow chains just incase, drive better than the fooking Manitu i have to use at work..

Body staying on, I think :scratching_chin: can un screw the floor right up to the bulk head so will just take the roof off and lift/lower the gear box in with the forklift!!! :D:D will paint the chassis at the same time :D:D

Got to have it finished by July, or at lease in a state that it can go outside as there is 5000 tons of wheat going in the shead :eek:

Found an old lister 2 cyl at work but no starter for ya ;) You put any moor miles on the 2A?

nah , decided to put it on a SORN the yello un for now, weathers too ****ty to use it really,

thats what i did to the lt77 box in the 90, forklifted it in on 2 long straps , simples ,

am still lookin for starters for petter ava2 engines, no bloody luck tho. whats yer found , a petrol or diesel ?

them wire wheels are just the job, iv found them better in the air grinder as the vibration wont kill yer arms, as yer will be on it fer weeks ! lol hope you have the time to pull all the needles out of yer overalls after , i was like a ####in hedghog

Got a LT77 going in and a crysler auto comming out..

Got some old overalls that will be binned after.

You must be the only person that sorns a landy in the winter because of the bad weather, but you have the 90 so will let you off..

Oh and the lister looks like a diesel with a hand crank and the casting for tne starter. Connected to a 110v genny atm

yeah, i wanted the ted20 on the road for the snow too, but got too much to do at mo

nah auto box int much use fer awt, unless yer doin hundreds of miles towing spose

keep the pics comin stu, be nice to see it comin together

be loads of hard work and expense mixed with broken fingers and welding burns, then as if by magic it will fly together in a few weeks, mine seemed like there was no end

Hope mine goes well, not got much time between looking after Jack and Claire doing the horse. Got a budget each month so should get it done..

Claire wants a Disco and been offered a S III for not much, and should have a horse trailer to referb, but will need the rangy or a disco to pull it

them discos are rust buckets unless yer drop on a good un, the series is worth a shot if its cheap enough ? that'le do for little man to tinker with when he'd old enough :)

hmmmm, horse boxs and referb dont go together for me somehow, unless its a timber one and worth doing proper,

Alloy sides timber floor, need a respray, on flebay up in lincoln. SIII would be for jack but will be on the road before he gets that old. Get a 300tdi disco then when it rots will nick the engin and box and put it in the SIII..

what colour you gonna paint the rr??

wild or oe?

thinkin of candy red for mine...(rather than artic white.oe colour)

Found a great Lagoon matalic blue, either that or Monte Carlo Blue, black roof and sills etc. Yellow and orange under carriage though :D

Braved the snow in the Focus as I had to go to work to clear the yard.

Got the rest of the doors off and started stripping the front out.

Got the front seats, air con blower, lower dash and most of the screws for the gear box top. Tried to get the blower box out but ran out of time. Front foot wells are worse than I thought as well..

Never know, might be putting it back together one day:D:D:D

oh dear...
so new sills and foot wells..

paddocks do the lot..they are good..and cheap.
they do foot wells + side bulkhead for £32 each side i think..or you could just weld in new metal for the footwells..but at 32 i would just go buy..

its a never ending story ain't it...the more you look the more rot you find..!!

seen pics of the rear of mine..realllllllllyyyy hoping its snow city tomorrow so work is cancelled..then as i will go in i will be removing roof, choping out goal post and rear x member, repairing goal post and welding in new x member..then choping out n/s rear inner panel and replacing with new panel and upper half of good old one i have.then putting new roof on with elecy sunroof..

then rear chassis to repair by rear spring hangers, rear axle to remove and spring mounts to replace..blah blah blah.......let it SNOW!!

Been watching yours Zen, going to do the sills with 100mm / 60mm / 3.5mm box, will get footwells after next pay day.

I don't get snow day's, but I do get overtime when it snows to clear it :D as we have 25 industrial units to look after, and as my rangy is in a shed at work can't use that excuse...

Is it better to use cellulose or enamel paint on the chassis and axles?
