Clean the workshop :(

It is fairly clean, tidy, no as I am still trying to fit everything in, my theory is to fit bits back on the Rangy to make more room.

Boxes contain parts to go back on, wood is about as I am still building shelves, supports etc in the workshop as I have only just built and moved in

And the string, well I'm a farmer, string fixes everything, and holds things together while I bolt them up as most of the build I am doing on my own.

Got a couple of jobs done tonight. The front axle is on axle stands and wheels off to finish the front brakes and change the radius arms back to standard speck.

I took the OSF caliper off the axle, I have replacement ones so got the one for that side and started the re condition. It was already painted but might clean it off as I don't think it was done with heap proof caliper paint.

Having read a few posts on hear, the best way to get the pistons out is blast some air through the pipes. So I made this.

Worked well, Luckily the secondary pistons came out first.

To get the primary pistons out, I split the caliper, put a G clamp on the hole and pulled the trigger, nothing :confused: there was no whooshing air, no leaks nothing :scratching_chin: I checked the air line and all was good so I tried again and nothing :scratching_chin: so I tapped the piston with the hammer and BANG it shot across the workshop with the 10bar of pressuer behind it :D so I did the other side, same again. Thinking of putting a target up and totting up points :p

So fun over, the inside, picture says 1000 words.

Hmmmm, some cleaning needed. got all of the grime out and blew threw the oil channels and got the inside all clean. Got new seals and pistons to put in and all will be good. Only another 3 corners to go.
 
You ought to aim at the Pidgeon. That would stop the flying rats coming back

Nothing been back in. Had our pigeon man around and got rid of most.

Need to block the holes up so they don't come back in. Or get a heat sensing AK47 to shoot them as they fly in
 
Rig up a PIR sensor at each side linked to the spray guns filled with sump oil, so when a bird flies in it gets a face full of black sump oil, that'll dissuade them :evil:
 
I use a hydraulic hand pumpand a fitting onto the caliper, then use a cramp to hold one that is almost free, free enough to pull out while the others press out.

Tbh the time it takes to rebuild a calliper isnt worth the cost of a new one
 
Hmmm. Sump oil all over the rangy and tools. But like your thinking.

Jai. I got a .177 a .410 and a 12bore sat in the cabinet at home, but I'm not allowed to make holes in the roof :p
 
I got a bit more done tonight.

Got the caliper rebuilt that I stripped last night.

The second front caliper went well and got it done faster. Cleaned the paint off them both and re painted with caliper paint

I grabbed a couple of hours this morning to work on the rangy. Also wanted to test the camera on my new phone.

I want to get the brakes finished so rebuild the rear calipers.

Don't know if it's because I have done the fronts already but they seemed easier and I would advise anyone to start with the back then do the fronts. Anyhoo hear is some pics

Does anybody have a Rangy 4 speed LT95 collecting dust they would be willing to let go? I'm collecting parts for my next project. An ALRC CCV Trailer.
 
Q for ya stu what scope you got on your .177??

I'm in the market for a half decent scope for the .22

A cheap (£40 max) 3.9x40 will be good enough for your air rifle, plenty on the Bay of E. Waste of money putting anything more expensive on unless its a small bore IMHO.:)
