Cheers for the advice. Im good, just building a workshop. It failed on 18points  but after replacing the rear break system, front pads, welded the sill, replaced the fuel line etc etc, 2 nights on a friends ramp it passed. On the lookout for a disco in the spring to replace it.

Anyway, have a good Christmas.

I'm back on the Rangy now :D took the tarp off for the first time since July

Then I cleaned the rust off and painted the new steering column.

Then finished the front brake pipes. I apologise for the pics, my phone batt was low so no flash.

Looks like the nissan terrano.... unmistakable puny suspension bits.
I think the term 'jap crap' was coined because of that car.
Amazing how fast they deteriorated from new.
Anyway, nice to see you back at work on the classic... keep up the good work.

about bloody time you on her again!

Ye, lack of time and other stuff going on, how you getting on with yours?

I love the vast range of colours! Keep the pictures and updates rolling! :)

Colours are fairly random. I got the black and the blue for the panels but don't want to use it on unseen bits so I use what I have laying about or the bosses don't want. The chassis will be covered in waxoyl so the red will go.

I hate that car with a passion, it's not even a nice drive and considering it has a 2.7 it has sweet fa power or torque. I want to replace it with a non lpg V8 disco, I prefere the 200series with the 3.5 efi but the wife wants a 3.9 but wont pay what they are worth.

It's nice to be back on the classic, I have my process in my head and hopefully all of the expensive bits have been bought so should be fairly simple. I put an offer on a very nice 3.5efi that someone is pulling out of a RTV trialer just incase my one is stuffed.

All I seam to be doing at the moment is moving fookin horses around so not much time on the Rangy. I did manage to paint the radius arms during work on Friday.

I need to clear the outside and try and fit it in before the boss starts moaning. Anyone want a chassis? Or dash bits of the SE before they go scrap yard?

Fooking pigeons have got in and sh!t on everything. I got 3 out of the 4 just need to clean up before any more work. Fooking flying rat bastard things :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Wahay, time on the Rangy :banana::5bparty:

One job at a time and do it once, do it right.

Thought I had better get the steering back together so if i need to move it it will be easier.

First job, strip down the original steering column

Dam security bolts.

1511072_10152002215556231_1866701311145209384_n.jpg

To get them out, first drill a hole

10155537_10152002216586231_3530236829518396361_n.jpg

Then tap a old flat head screwdriver into the hole

10250102_10152002216071231_7406930643018794009_n.jpg

Then unscrew, simples

It looks like the indicator stalk had been replaced by a cowboy butcher in the past

I have put it back on for now but either want to replace it or solder and heat shrink the joins, if anybody had a working one in there spares bin they are willing to sell please get in touch.

So after finding some some bolts that fit the ignition barrel and refitting the dodgy indicator stalk, before I forget how it goes, Its built :D
