I am hanging on hoping they'll drop a bit soon. Still north of £1.75 here and that's taking the proverbial.
It's meant to go up in summer apparently.. Our third lad works in a petrol station and gets titbit info..
Shell haven't aeen me in so long they've sent me a £3 off voucher.

I put some in the BMW last week, Christ they've slowed the pump down so it appears your getting more for your money or is it just me?

Does seem to take while doesn’t click if I hold it in wrong only dribbles in. Quite often the stations near me (nearest filling station is quite few mile away) have no diesel at all. When they do it’s £1.94 per L

I feel much better now my spills are done I’m not randomly losing gallons over the block and sump. Got a metre length to finish off injectors 4,5&6 map pipe is silicone so should be done for good now. Coupled with the fact I don’t have to boot it uphill anymore plan on seeing less of the pumps
My experience with overheating on my 2001 Vogue is that it doesn't cause any permanent damage. A couple of years ago I had massive overheating problems with loss of coolant that was diagnosed by my local garage as leaking head gasket or slipped cylinder liners as the sniff test found exhaust gases in the coolant. They also replaced a leaking water pump. They told me I needed a new engine but as a last desperate measure would try fixing it with a few bottles of Steel Seal. Amazingly it worked although I have subsequently replaced the radiator & heater matrix as they were sludged up. It's 20,000 miles later & still going strong. Total mileage is 170,000. I'm budgeting for a complete reconditioned engine at some stage but for the moment I'm tempted to wait until I see some reduction in performance or increase in fuel consumption. I have found a new specialist independent garage who I have far more confidence in than the previous 4x4 specialist I used. Unfortunately they are 40 miles away rather than walking distance but are far more clued up on P38s & other older Land Rover models.

probably not doing anything about it as the higher the prices the more tax is paid, just lines their pockets and gets money back from furlough etc probably will be stupid prices for a long time yet

It's no different in France with the fuel.
It's apparently much worse in the Netherlands & they have crippling road tax for vehicles like the P38.
As per the thread I just posted I'm using E85 (85% bioethanol) at 90c/L which has higher fuel consumption but is the price equivalent of 31mpg on E10.

Its just you Alan plus the conning bastards are still not letting the pumps round up to the full pound and it still adds 1p over all the time. Well done buddy. I do the exact same. Some garages have a coin tray on the counter with pennies in it but i mostly use pay at pump now as fed up with waiting all the time for the fat bastard who goes in to do their weekly shopping holding the que up and eating what they have in the basket before they pay for it. Some pumps you can set what you want to put in too but i just like to fill up each visit.
