Wotcha' all, First off the motor is a 2002 Disco TD5 ES auto, Well it seems my little problem wasn't fixed after all. Back in the winter I was topping up the water + anti freeze all the time and there were a whole range of suggestions as to why but once the spring came along and the heater was switched off there was no problem so I did bugger all about it. All sorted!....or so I thought. Four months on it seems that there is a damp smell coming from inside and sure enough under the front and rear mats (both drivers side) the carpets are are quite damp. So I now have to do something about it. First thing I reckon is clear the plug holes but I still reckon it's going to be something bigger...so I've just armed myself with a Haynes manual. The hoses inside the engine seem to be clear of residue so either the heaters had it and is somehow leaking into the cab or there are hoses reaching into the drivers side which are buggered...or am I talking boll**ks. Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear:confused:

First off throw your Haynes manual in the bin - they're crap
Do a search on here for RAVE and download that - its the manual Landrover use, gives you much more help than Haynes. I had much the same problem less the wet carpets. Mine was the waterpump and radiator leaking.
Good luck

I've just had a problem with my carpets front and back getting wet. It turns out my AC drains were blocked and the water was running out of the low level vents inside the car.

The rubber drains are up high at each side of the gearbox. I just squeezed the drains and a heap of water ran out.

Worth checking.

if thats the case - remove the underlay/sound deadening - coz they act like a sponge and rot the floors big time. - they take weeks to dry out to.:(
