Nope !!!!!

Its a none permanent structure.

No planning permission needed.

was the answer given the first time around... so unless the laws have changed over the past 24ish hours add think the same answer would apply but then am not a lawyer

see yer man retsgom is a busy man but am sure he wint mind if ah try and help him a bit. now ave looked it up on wikipedia and it says a carport is legally defined as a carport. if this is wrong am sure retsgom will correct it later when hes not busy answering questions about the price of chips

basically any structure that screws/bolts to the house is a temp structure.
which is why most conservertories do not require PP.

even a concrete panel marley type, garage is considered a temp structure.

within certain parameters, almost anything temp can be erected.
esp at the side or at the rear of the house.
forward of the building line is usually a strict no no.

ah say all but ah think CLM is still having probs wiff the idea of a carport being called a carport. ah think he has it in his mind that a carport is a building on a par wiff the pyramids

God the humour is overwhelming me!

I dont give a monkeys what its called, just as to wether the council would moan at me doris for having it, cos the tenancy says no to some stuff like sheds.

reet bouy.. every council have thur own regs by which they play at ferkin yer life up. best bet would be to phone them in the mornin and ask someone there. unless retsy live in the same area as you its unlikey he'll be privvy to yer local by-laws.

If it states in your tenancy that you must first get consent for a shed then it going to be the same rule for a car port.

Give them a ring, but i bet they want a detailed drawing of it first !!!!:D
