Not a good choice for laning buddy, I'll be changing them to Coopers soon.

Every time I go laning with it in Wales, it comes back with a split tyre wall and costs me nearly £300 a time. :mad:

The D3 isn't for laning... it's for lots of road work - then Morocco, but, it'll have A/T's on by then.

The weekends little trip out was only done in the D3 due to a trapped nerve in my back causing pain and not wanting to make it worse by using the series.

£300 a time :confused: Ouch! I though £180 a corner was bad
 
Yes oddly enough Stratstone always seem to find the faults and I can't find them much cheaper if I pulled the vehicle out and did it myself so I end up just nodding my head with a glazed look in my eyes.
 
back to the nobba i welcome him to polands bieszczady mountains to come and play then he will reilise that with my 88 series 2a he will not hope to follow me, the tracks here that i play on are mostly commercial logging tracks or they are last years logging tracks so not used but as long as you stay on the track the police and forest rangers are ok but the tracks are vary so much my faverite track combines rock crawling, wading, soft sand, sandy mud hard mud and deep mud its a fun track that can catch you out if not paying attention road tyres are no use for the lanes around here they vary so very much where you can be happliy going along then next 50 yards you are in deep mud extreme terrotory

just dont criticise us people who have mt or at or extreme tyres because we use them me i do more forest miles than road miles and i would be stuffed without having bigger mt tyres as i need the diff clearance here

Calm down son. I made a tongue in cheek remark about learning to drive off road and a few people on here took it as a personal slight against them.
I was giving my opinion on a Land Rover forum.
If you pay for me to come to Poland Ill happily go off roading with you:)
 
Well i'm glad to see my post brought out varried opinions.

Just like any other forum, experiences vary ..

Time to read it all and sift through for Nuggets of info i guess..

Adressing my original post though, does anyone actually have any proper advice for me..

Say to keep it simple..

Perhaps the top 6 things to sort on my Disco before going green laning which will keep me out of trouble on the plains. :D

2, Suitable tyres to suit the conditions liable to be encountered. :D
3, Ropes & shackles
4, A CB radio
5, Basic tool kit to suit your vehicle
6, A portable work light

In my opinion.
 
Mobile with internet access and LZIR saved as a favourite on your browser.
 
Yup, def agree on the spade. Been in a few situations where a vehicle has been dug out of trouble.

Wow... where did you dig that up from?! Haven't seen that Disco for years!

That was the result of breaking the Series the day before the laning trip... it did fine on most of the lanes :)
