Question:
During the wheel bearing change at the show some grease/oil leaked from the bottom of the swivel housing when the two top bolts came out that where holding the break caliper bracket on. It seems to still be leaking. Is there anything I can do to fix the leak before I give it some one shot?

TIA

have you got a drain off point on the bottom of swivel housing ? if you have drain the oil out and as you said replace it with one shot

forgot to say make sure you can undo the filler one first aswell

i'm pretty sure I do have a drain off, but I was thinking the new oneshot will leak out if I can't cure the leak 1st.

Is there a way of doing something or is it just a stuffed seal..

one shot is grease not oil , likely hood is yes could be a stuffed seal you could cheat by undoing all the nuts and removing round washer and putting new seal back in but ! you would have to split seal and place split at top of housing

It may not leak. Originally your swivel joint will have been filled with oil and only later 90s had grease, which tends to leak less. Therefore once you've drained the rest of the oil and tightened the drain plug it may not leak.

Warm the sachet first in fairly hot water for about 5 minutes then it should pour into the swivel housing easier... :D

Thinking about that !!

the older Series and some early 90/110s have the drain plug, they should have oil in, I think it's because they have a king-pin bush that is splash fed and the excess drips back down ... James will tell if I'm wrong

Can't remember if the one-shot is OK with that type ...
