ive looked and nothing. im no expert but thanks for such a unhelpful post.
Look, everybody tries to help on here but it doesn't help the cause when the forum is filled to the gunnels with questions that are easily answered.
I typed in "range rover tdv8 cylinder layout" and the very first result was a post from full fat range rover discussing it in detail.
Saying "I've looked and nothing" is quite clearly wrong.
If you can't be bothered to check Google and use the search function, don't be surprised if people can't be bothered to help you.
Just friendly advice that's all.

clearly your just the warrior with little man syndrome. i realy hope you think befor you speak when out in public. as i said im not great on computers or googling hence hrs on searching. but you just crack being a big man behind your screen. maybe when your stuck on sumit you dont find so eady some one will give you the same responce i got from you. be my last responce on here. clearly out stayed my welcome already

Perhaps, but as you had the answer anyway, why not share and also point out how easy it would have been to find the answer?

Oh grow up. You clearly are capable of typing your question on here and registering as a member. Putting the question in Google would have got you the answer for far less work and with far less ability.
No I'm not a keyboard warrior, just someone who doesn't want the forum cluttered up with things that are easily and completely answered by Google.
It stops the more difficult questions getting front page space.
Now, if you think that's wrong, fine, off you go. But remember, this forum IS one of the most helpful around.
My comment wasn't designed to offend and I apologise if I did. It was simply to make you think a little bit.

Fair comment. Maybe I could have done but, then maybe he could have looked on Google first?
Anyway, I've said my piece in my reply. Up to him if he wants to naff off.
Personally, I'd never give him advice if he thinks I'm a keyboard warrior but that's no skin off my teeth.

everything could be found on google, but then no need for a forum and then also few successful google searches
Yes, I agree with that to a degree but forums' role is best for things that there can be many different answers/opinions.
For something like this, which is a cast iron answer then Google is much better/easier. There is no opinion or alternative answer to the question.
As I said, I apologise if I offended, maybe I was a little harsh. I just think if the forum is kept more for things that can have a variety of solutions then it gives those posts which aren't as easy to research more front page exposure.

I said on this site just a couple of days something I think all could benefit from. I think it may be worth saying again, as I believe the issue was more to do with attitude,in the original post, than the question, or how simply it could be answered. Please and thank you go a long way ;)
What I said was:
Always remember, anyone giving help on here is doing it for free and those of us asking for help, are those who should remember to be at least a little humble. We should also remember to keep our sense of humour. It will be the only thing that gets us through LR/RR ownership and this site

Sensible head off and off to play with @holidaychicken and @tomcat59alan

er......I spent 10 minutes this morning googling it and I had no success, if I'd only have I typed layout instead of firing order, or piston numbers!!

Anyhoo, without taking sides I hate this bull****, there is absolutely no reason for anyone to assume the position of 'Forum Police' and presuming they know what a forum should be for, this isn't the VOC , and long may that continue!

It's quite common to see a lack of please and thank you's with newbies, but I find they soon come round once they are exposed the forum generally.

If they still don't have manners after that, then by all means it's a free for all to shoot them down, or better still, ignore.

My 2d.;)

Now gwe, your not the first to spit the dummy, but if your smart you'll pop back, shake hands and no more shall be made of it.;)

5 seconds on Google

Your normally the first to assist, this is all quite quite shocking.
I've asked Butler to pop a cork on a vintage for me, for medicinal purposes.
I may also instruct him to pop some corn on the aga:D

I say it again, my apologies. Yes I was probably too harsh especially on a newbie. As someone above pointed out, I should have given the info and then explained that stuff like this can be easily found.
I most certainly wasn't trying to be "forum police" just trying to get people to use a little bit of gumption for the simple things.
I must confess, I was feeling a bit under the weather having just spent 27 hours flying back from America.
Note to self, don't comment when tired!
Anyway, hope he sticks around, we could use more tdv8 and later model owners.
Once again, my apologies if anyone was offended. Normal service has now been resumed!
