Between them, cats and EGRs, I don't know which is a worse invention :)
 
Saying to a mate in the pub last night, my thought was.. if you take the cat off the your mileage increases, therefore using less fuel so less exhaust gas. Leave it on lower mileage more fuel but less gas

So you remove the cat and get more miles.

How about the quality and pollutant ratios of the gases once the cat is removed.
