All this 240 and 510 BHP talk is crazy compared to my usual Jap-car bubble as my lot don't even start to get excited until you reach the 900 to 1000BHP-figures. That said, it sounds to me as if 240 Horses (and heaps of torque) will do the job of scaring people quite nicely in a Landy.

Keep the brakes as standard and that will be even more fun/lethal.

Track vehicles need high hp for acceleration

LandRovers don't need so much hp because (I'm aware this will shock some folk )
They were never built for a race track ;)

What a Land Rover needs is torque ;)

The OP is obviously into speed and his supra, i get it i really do. I used to be too. :)

But for the life of me i don't know why people want to do this to defenders! Its a farm/agricultural vehicle.

It is nice to cruse on the highways and keep up with traffic and even pass a few cars. It has to be embarrassing to be passed by pedal bikes;) Nothing wrong having the ability to do 100mph in them, just makes for safer driving when starting from a stand still and getting upto speed quicker

Coz its really fun! :D Pulling up in a big old Fender and the little twerp next to you in the 'tuned up' Golf thinking hes the king then you put your foot down and freak the hell out of everyone!

Tbf top end speed is totally insane in a Fender as it simply will not stop. That said I would like a bit more umph out of mine, over taking, getting up to speed quicker etc.. Wouldnt mind some more torque either.

Personally planning on the bigger intercooler and remap but thats about it.

There is a 510hp Fender was in LRO i think but was a V8 i believe

Same with a 4 ton pickup:D and cruise at 80MPH, in comfort. Darn thing has a speed limiter set at 105MPH:)

mine has an alive remap, a full face intercooler no EGR etc etc and if i try hard i can lose traction from the off.

Ask MarkL, mine isn't like the twisted or the alive one but it does shift a little if needed.

I don't want to look like the bell end in the ****er-mobile next to me though so i don't! If i wanted to, id buy a ****er-mobile as well.

The really strange thing, Ginge, is that I am quite the opposite good sir. I hate speeding about.

I drive at 60 on the motorway in the car and sometimes I may even push it to 70 when I'm on the Honda Pan.

I like the technical, logical, looks, and performance capabilities of cars and bikes, i.e I love to tinker but the driving part is something I can take it or leave.

I had minis when i was a bit younger, then i had silly minis :) then i got too many points so i got a diesel mondeo estate with no turbo :(

That was slow, very slow :( :( :(

After that i sort of lost my hankering for fast stuff, until last year when i bought my audi, that gives me a little smile but can still get 55mpg.

I was always into the classic stuff, Minis, austin healeys, jags etc etc.

It sounds as if we've gone through the same phase in all honesty Ginge. I just like making things look new again, and where they were broken; fix em'.;)

My thinking too :D I've got other cars what will accelerate easily twice as quick to 60 or 100mph than the Defender even with all it's mods done to it but it's still very satisfying when you can out-drag a fool in his sh!tbox corsa even when your towing a trailer :D

no its not a cat the DPF works by forcing the exhaust gasses through a honeycomb structure with porous walls. Unlike a Catalytic converter the DPF is not a flow-through device, the gasses move across the honeycomb cell walls while the particulate matter is trapped. A well designed DPF can reduce soot particulate emissions by up to 85% and drastically reduces hydrocarbon and carbon monoxide emissions.

is not the DPF in the exhaust system ? like the cat is was trying to make it simple for him
