Hi people just wanting to no if yous could shed some light on my problem, I have a 02 plate td5 discover 133,000 when I go to start her in the morning cranks as normally 2-3 turns she fires but runs rough ( like low on fuel ) then revs pick up then makes a funny noice as in the abs pump shuttling for a fracktion of a second then revs are at idle and stay there but if I go to drive straight off after start up it's is flat no power give it a second or hold my foot down then vroom were off only dose it when it has been stud for couple hours, now I have just done the injector harness on sat just gone NO OIL in red plug or ecm, I am thinking fuel system
 
I had a similar problem when I got my 2002 Td5 auto in 2013. As I had been adding 2SO to fuel in my old Disco 1 300Tdi auto I added some to the Td5.
I also filled it with a tank of the top grade BP ultimate fuel. I don,t use supermarket fuel, add 2SO every time I fill up. Cured the dodgy tickover immediately.
Always starts and ticks over fine and I do NOT have any smoke at all from exhaust.
Cheap to try and eliminate.

If you do a search on here for TD5 starting you will find an amazing amount of threads.

Plus on Youtube Landrover toolbox have a series of videos regarding starting issues on the TD5.

Try the purge first and see what you get......Good luck.

2SO is two stroke oil. Cheapest mineral base you can get. I buy mine from Morrisons, £2. for a 500 mil bottle
Add at 100 to 1 basis. If you want to check this out just goggle " 2SO in diesel" keep you reading for a month.
As I said, cheap and worth a try.
 
Ok so the cars been sat at work cold start fires and runs like a bag of s**t revs pick up then go to idle speed press the throttle down really lazy rev increases back the revs off put the throttle down again a little slow the boom revs as normal, would it more likely to be injector seals as in until the injectors built the correct kpa to run at ? But the noice it makes every time it lets the revs go to idle from its rough running gets me
