What a TOTAL W
COKFACE of a job,
Simple enough replace the exhaust on a TD5, with a full stainless system ( decat and straight mid)
Turbo Manifold studs n bolts came out easy no probes, new studs in sorted
Rubber hangers were being difficult, ( think they are made of a new military grade of poly bush non rubber stuff! hand new ones so just got funky with a stanley job done.
Remove downpipe, and fubared joints on the middle box....easy, I have a grinder!
Pop the new stainless pipe back in, which would have been a 15 min job but crossmember bolts had, well sort of morphed into the chassis like welded blobs of crudski.
i wish i had taken a picture they looked like a sausage roll fresh from the oven mixed with a rose bud, swollen and just morphed into something else!
So spent a merry 3 hrs getting them out, replaced all with nice new A4 Marine stainless bolts n nuts, fitted the exhaust very happy indeed.
Then I noticed two large lumps of something, yep my bump stops had 'fallen' down ( guess they just missed the old exhaust so much the had to go with it to the scrappers. So added a pair to my shopping list....
all done bathed and cidered
