Wondering if anyone can help!
Bought a freelander td4 9 weeks ago from a private seller, drove home 60 miles no problems! Following morning cut out several times! Over the next week had new fuel filter, crankshaft sensor and air intake sensor changed! Ran ok for about two weeks then started running poor, misfire, loss of power and failed to start several occasions. Took it to garage who did leak back test on injector and was told (no4) needed replacing! Also replaced start or motor! Ran fab all day! Then following day wouldn't start! Called AA and was told it was faulty wiring on the fuel pressure regulator! Been fine for a couple of days and now starting to lose power and misfire again! Am at my whitts end now.

then touched wiring of fuel pressure regulator and started straight away. Been fine for several days now and last night started misfiring again.
the problem LR had with the harness .. is that the connector to the sensor is / was prone to water ingress ..
that ends up corroding the connector pins .. and the wiring ..
the new replacement harness has a better connector ( plug ) regarding keeping water / moisture out ..

you could try cleaning the sensor plug / socket pins .. with some electrical contact cleaner ..
then apply some ' contralube 770 ' ( http://contralube.com/contralube-770/ )

the voltage to and from that sensor is small .. 5v / 0.5v ..
so the wiring connections have to very clean .. and make a good solid contact .. for it to work properly ..

even if you replace the wiring harness .. still advisable to use the ' contralube 770 '
as it also helps the contacts to deal with engine / vehicle vibrations ..

as for water ingress to the engine bay ..
after standing overnight in rain .. mine would have a pool of water around the oil filler cap .. i.e. in the surrounding plastic ' dish / bowl ' shape ..
not wanting to risk water getting into the oil sump
via a potential less than perfect oil cap seal ..
i drilled some small holes in the 'dish' shape .. to allow the water to drain away ..
( i need to park facing downhill when at home ..
( no idea if that promotes water getting onto the engine top ..

Thank you all will get the kit and let you know! He said the regulator appears in good condition, he removed it and replaced it and soon as he touched the wiring the second time it cut out! I hope this kit sorts it out, not sure what else to do.
