Hi All Looking at a 99Dt, but the paint work has a few scratches all over which have been badly painted with a touch up stick! One panel has 7 such marks. Rest of the body work is ok and original. The car is £4k with 130,000 miles, smart interior and needs tyres a key fob and track rod. Would you buy a P38 that looked a little scruffy and use the money saved to improve or look further for a more expensive Say £6K better car? Really keen and so tempted to buy. Thanks Dean

4K's a LOT of money and tyres will set you back 150+ each so I'd arrange the following into a sentence.

"pole a touch wouldn't it barge with"

Not many DT or DSE P38s around for £4k, most seem £5k upwards. So do not know what to do. Ford galaxy???

Paintwork can be sorted by a good detailer for around £400 for a complete paint correction service if the rest is ok might be worthwhile,

Shop around for a bottom half blow over...wait for the comments !!!
Unlikely that the roof is bad. The front trims by the windscreen and the vinyl at the back split the top & bottom sections so any slight difference in paint shade won't be noticed.
If you are prepared to do some of the prep work, masking etc., it could help with the costs.

dean if you have a budget of £6k max,i,d stick to paying £4k.the other £2k might be needed when things start going wrong.
